Fuck my fucking life.

"Everybody off the field immediately!" McGonagall's voice managed to rise above the panic.

"Run! Quick!" Hagrid's joined hers. "This way!"

The silence that had followed Valentine's bitter victory was gone and replaced with more screams than ever before as dozens of students scrambled to the exits.

The troll, a large wooden club dragging along the ground at its side, took a moment to scan the field and find the person Amycus had pointed out. It shouldn't have been hard even for a troll. She was the only one not running.

"She's right there you great ugly beast!" Amycus pointed to her with more fervour than before.

It took the troll another moment longer but he did see her, beady dark eyes locking into place.

Valentine knew this had all been too easy. Even twenty against one didn't seem enough for the rage the Carrow's held for her. But a troll? A fucking troll? It was insane, even by her standards. Hell, even by their standards.

Two Ravenclaw's propping up Christine with one of her arms over each shoulder almost knocked Valentine off her feet as they passed in the chaos.

"Wait!" Christine stopped them, reaching out to grab hold of Valentine's elbow, brow creased intensely. "Are you going to fight it?"

Valentine shoved her hand away.

"Of course. I'm not losing to fucking Amycus Carrow."

She didn't see Christine's reaction as the two Ravenclaw's pushed her along, just trying to get to safety like everyone else.

A great tremor shook the ground as the troll took a step forward. Valentine did the same. It took another thunderous step and Valentine broke into a run, pulling out her wand once again.

She'd never fought a troll before. In fact, She couldn't remember ever really fighting a magical creature besides the Grindylow or Lupin in his werewolf form. Unlike the both of them, trolls were widely known to be of rather low intelligence, which was why Valentine was confused to see one following orders. They were also incredibly strong, violent and unpredictable. And this troll, seeming to be of the mountain variety from what she'd read, was the most dangerous of its species.

How in the fuck did he even find one in the first place?

Despite all the questions the appearance of this troll bought up, Valentine's mind was rather calm, even as the troll picked up speed, heading towards her as she was towards it.

A trolls best defence is their physical strength and while I may lack in that department, my magical abilities and intelligence certainly do not. If I don't let it get its hands-on me or send me flying with that club then I'll still have the upper hand. And unlike with the students, I won't need to hold back.

The nearer the two got, the louder the troll's steps became and the harder the ground beneath Valentine's feet vibrated. It didn't seem to even notice the last of the students fleeing. All it appeared to focus on was Valentine.

First things first; Disarming. And no matter the species or the intelligence, we all know danger when we see it.

She stopped in her tracks abruptly to aim and made no moves to hold in her strength.

Incendio!

Her wand whipped through the air like a knife, sending a ball of fire over half the size of herself whirling towards the troll.
