At first Nao couldn't be happier to be back in Konoha, that was until she found out all that happened while she was gone. The Kazekage was dead which allowed Orochimaru to infiltrate the village and now the third Hokage was dead after sealing the Sanin's arms with a high level jutsu that killed him in turn. It was a sad day.
Nao looked around at all the people that came to pay their respects, shinobi and civilian alike. It seemed the entire village turned up for the funeral. Even Toniko was there, though he never knew the Hokage. Everyone was somber, even Sasuke.
Sasuke and Nao didn't talk much once they got home. There was a lot to talk about with her going missing, but it wasn't the right time. She just made a simple meal for them and her brothers then went to bed. Too much had happened over the last month, and it left a sour taste in her mouth.
When she woke in the morning, it was a bright new day. It didn't seem very cheery to her though with the day before. It didn't seem right to just continue on after all that happened, but she did. She got out of bed and dressed for the day in the bathroom, not waking Sasuke in the process. She wanted him to wake up when he felt today, hopefully after she made breakfast.
And so, she continued on with her morning routine, happy she could finally get back into it after so long of doing nothing in Suna.
"How are you Nao-himi?"
The voice made Nao jump as she was cutting up the tomatoes for breakfast and she almost cut herself. The voice laughed and finally Nao turned around to find Toniko there.
"Touru?!" She was confused and thought he went back to Honou. "What are you doing here?"
Toniko smiled and bowed. "I'm bound to your service," he said simply.
"Ah," Nao said as she put a hand on his shoulder. "Then I have another mouth to feed!"
Toniko straightened up and just smiled as she laughed and continued preparing breakfast.
Sasuke heard commotion and groaned as he awoke. He was not in the mood for giggling so early in the morning, but hearing Nao did make him smile just slightly. He wouldn't admit it, but he missed having her around. It was odd without her and didn't feel quite right being without her voice for so long.
It was then he heard a voice he didn't recognize. He was much more awake than previously now. Quickly, he got dressed and stalked out of the room to find Nao in the dining room with an unknown man. As Nao caught him standing in the doorway, she smiled and beckoned him over where a plate of food sat beside her on the table.
"Who is he?" Sasuke asked coolly as he sat down.
"This is Touru," she explained. "He's a bodyguard my father-"
Sasuke cut her off with a scoff. "Send him back. We don't need him."
Nao flinched back at the harsh tone Sasuke's voice cut.
"But Sasuke, he helped me get back here," she explained.
"I don't care. We don't need him here, Nao," Sasuke said again.
"I'm not going anywhere," Toniko chimed in. "You can't protect her."
Sasuke glared at the male in front of him and stopped eating. He put his elbows on the table and rested his chin on his folded hands as he looked Toniko up and down, like a bug that needed squished.
"I can protect her fine," Sasuke said vehemently.
Toniko shrugged his shoulders. "She got captured right under your village's nose, while you weren't here mind you."
"If I was there, she'd have been fine!" Sasuke objected.
"But you weren't."
Sasuke scowled at the words and realized he was right, which only made him angrier.

FanfictionThis is a love triangle story with Gaara and Sasuke. It will follow the time line but things will follow my OC most of the time and it will be slightly changed a bit to fit the story. I do NOT own the Naruto characters in any way. They all belong...
