(e-t-e-r-n-i-t-y)
Even in death, as the final whisper of breath is relinquished from my lungs, still I shall worship you-
Harnessing my ragged lungful to recite the prayer that is the gorgeous letters of your name (and all three syllables are worth every exhale, I promise you!)
Spiritually connected, tied beyond all bounds, I cry out loud to the high Heavens while my hands stay glued together:
"Keep the warmth of his body close to mine and his beating heart even closer, I beg of you Lord, for all eternity!"
(And God forbid his heart ceases to beat before my time comes, I shall follow him to the grave and hold onto his love in the afterlife with steel fists.)
The angels answer my plea in His stead with the touch of your hand, caressing the top of my hair to the ends of each strand.
Standing like such a vision in white and gold, reflecting sparks of sunlight against your stunning shade of brown-
I admire everything that you are and will be, staring proudly while I applaud until the skin of my palms is red and the tips of my fingers burst open.
"Darling, I just really need you to know how loudly I love you! Bravo! Encore!" I remain cheering until the crowd disperses, the curve of my smile being the last thing you see before the curtain closes.
