Lucy was walking through the bayou, the full moon was shining brightly through the tangled trees around her. A chill ran down her spine as she realized this might be the dumbest decision she'd ever made. But the compulsion to be here was undeniable, a magnetic pull that whispered to her from the depths of her subconscious. Her thoughts flickered back to her dream—the voice of Tito sounded urgent when he called her name. He had been trying to tell her something, but what?

She stuffed her hands in her pockets, trying to shake off the cold feeling up her spine. Suddenly, her fingers brushed against something crumpled. She stopped, pulling out a small piece of paper. As she opened it, her heart sank—"Cipactli" was scrawled across it, the same word that she had seen in her dream.

A distant howl echoed through the trees. quickly stuffed the paper back into her pocket and quickened her pace, a knot of anxiety tightening in her chest. Another howl, closer this time, sent her sprinting, her breath hitching as panic surged.

Just as she thought she might escape, she tripped over a branch and crashed hard onto the damp earth. "Fuck!" she gasped, pain shooting through her limbs. In her rush to stand, something caught her eye—a massive animal tooth lay half-buried in the mud. She snatched it up, feeling a strange significance in its weight. It had to mean something.

Pushing herself upright, Lucy's heart raced as a group of wolves emerged from the shadows, their eyes glowing ominously in the dark. Of course, Lucy! It's the full moon. What did you think was going to happen? Some drinks with the wolves? Be for real! she berated herself, adrenaline pounding in her ears. With no time to lose, she summoned her power, sending a blast of energy toward the nearest wolf. It yelped and stumbled back, but others advanced, relentless.

She ran, her lungs burning, but soon one wolf lunged at her, teeth sinking into her arm

She ran, her lungs burning, but soon one wolf lunged at her, teeth sinking into her arm. A scream tore from her lips as she felt the hot rush of pain. With her free hand, she unleashed another wave of magic, sending the wolf crashing into a nearby tree. Gasping for breath, she tried to escape but stumbled over her own feet, tumbling down a steep hill. When she finally came to a stop, her breath caught in her throat at the sight before her—a dead body sprawled unnaturally against the damp earth.
