"Just a few more days." Maeve told Y/N as she had finished bandaging Y/N's shoulder injury.
"Give it some more rest and we can get you out of here." Y/N hummed as Maeve walked to the kitchen to prepare food for herself, Max and Y/N. Max trotted downstairs with a yawn as Y/N perked up moving his head from the couch cushions to look at Max.
"Hey, kid, good rest?" Y/N asked with a small smile as Max gleamed with joy.
"Yeah! It was great thanks for asking." Max then proceeded to the console by the TV before turning it on.

"Hmm. I've never seen a console like that on the surface. Guessing it's something that mettaton made?" Max hastily nodded.
"Yep. Mettaton's console of gaming." Max smiled as he began to play that mettaton's castle of the dead. This mettaton guy seemed to have a massive ego. It even rivaled Y/N's own ego, however Y/N watched Max play the game nonetheless. The game seemed to be a point and click style adventure game from what Y/N could figure out. Yet what caused Y/N's interest was how complex the console and the game was themselves. From what Y/N knew monsters where first trapped over 200 years ago. It kind of inspired Y/N how monsters could advance in technology so much despite basically being completely cut off from the outside world.

It was much better than anything that humans could come up with. Y/N had read about tribes in the Amazon jungle, that were cut off from contact between the modern world, and needless to say they were still extremely primitive. Y/N smiled at the complexity of the monster kind. They were just like humans their ability to create almost anything out of nothing and their sheer determination. Y/N's thoughts were brought to papyrus' determination to befriend himself.

"Hey, big sis, what's for breakfast?" Max called out to Maeve, who was still preparing food in the kitchen.
"Just eggs." Maeve bluntly replied as Y/N shivered at the pure blandness. Y/N got up from the couch before moving to the kitchen to see Maeve cooking the eggs in a pan.
"In need of a little help?" Y/N asked with a small smirk as Maeve turned to him with a deadpanned  look.
"I can cook fine." Maeve spat as Y/N chuckled before moving to the stove. Y/N swayed behind Maeve as he held onto her hips before looking over at the pan to see a grim sight.

"What do you think your doing, mister~?" Maeve chimed with a small smirk.
"Nothin' just seeing what you're doing." Y/N played it off as he looked down at the burning eggs. "You're burning them." Y/N bluntly stated as Maeve grew an embarrassed blush.
"I am not! If you think you can do better then why don't you do it!" Maeve grumbled as Y/N giggled.
"Fine by me. Watch a masterpiece in the making." Y/N grinned as Maeve moved out of the way as she handed a spatula to Y/N.

Y/N immediately took the heat down on the stove as Maeve watched Y/N carefully. Y/N then grabbed the salt and pepper shakers sitting by the stove as he slowly turned each not wanting to dowse them in the the condiment. Y/N then, with the spatula, carefully moved the sizzling eggs in the pan making sure they wouldn't be overcooked and in less than a few moments, Y/N turned off the stove. Y/N turned to Maeve with a smirk.
"Viola!" Y/N smiled as he gestured to the three sitting eggs.

Maeve groaned. Eggs were easy to make, yet she struggled while Y/N showed very little effort.
"I could've done that." She said as Y/N chuckled lightly.
"Sure you could've." Y/N lightheartedly joked as Maeve crossed her arms.
"Tch... maybe you could teach me." Maeve grumbled her pride clearly hurt.
"Maybe." Y/N smiled as he set the table for the three to eat together.

"Max come on! Breakfast is ready!" Maeve called out to her little brother as he yelped in delight as he made his way to the table. Maeve sat down next to her little brother as Y/N placed a plate with the freshly cooked eggs sitting there before placing down his own.
"Bon appetite!" Y/N smiled once more before digging in. The two of Maeve and Max looked at each other in confusion before turning back to Y/N.

"Uhm, Y/N." Max asked slightly unsure.
"What?" Y/N turned to Max his mouth still filled with the egg.
"What does that mean?" Y/N was took a back for a moment before regaining composure.
"What? Bon appetite?" Y/N asked with a small shocked smile.
"Yeah! That." Max nodded as Y/N chuckled a bit.
"Just an expression, we humans have. Just means good appetite but we mainly use it before eating something."
"Ahhh, right." Max hummed clearly still confused at the expression.
"Don't worry about it too much. Just enjoy the food."
