"We have a lot to discuss..." Y/N repeated what Asgore had said as the 4 of Chara, Frisk, Y/N and Asgore sat around a table. "That's what you said. So... what do we have to discuss." Y/N smiled as Asgore laughed.
"Yes, we do have a lot of catching up to do but first... Cinnamon and butterscotch pie." Asgore grinned as he got up from his seat and walked into the kitchen. Y/N looked up to ceiling before letting out a pleased sigh.

"What's up with you?" Chara asked as she raised an eyebrow at him.
"Nothing... just glad." Y/N smiled as Frisk and Chara looked at him confusingly.
"Why?" Frisk asked as Y/N chuckled.
"Well... I haven't had someone not try to kill me for a while, Y'know. I don't know whether or not I got the short end of the stick but every encounter I had with a monster in the underground led to these." Y/N stated as he pointed to scars around his face, neck and arms. "It's just enjoyable not having to be in constant danger for a while." Y/N stated as Chara and Frisk looked down... as if they wanted to tell Y/N something.

"Y/N I'm sorry that happened to you." Frisk apologised as Chara repeated with the same line.
"*groan* why does everyone keep apologising... I definitely wasn't a saint when I was in the underground..." Y/N vaguely stated as a familiar voice spoke up.
"Yeah you were a monster, partner."
"Flowey..." Y/N groaned as he looked behind him to see the flower in a plant pot on the couch playing on a Nintendo DS. Flowey turned to Y/N before giving him a cocky wink.
"Sure is, partner. Say do you remember what happened in the underground?" Y/N grew silent as Chara and Frisk looked at him with a worried look.
"Flowey... whatever your trying to do.... Don't." Y/N growled as Flowey chuckled.
"Awwww don't worry partner I would never sabotage you in any way what so ever." Flowey grinned before going back to his DS.

It grew quiet as Frisk and Chara squirmed in their seats as Y/N hung his head in shame.
"What happened in the underground when you were there?" Frisk asked worried as Y/N wanted to move on from the subject.
"That's a story for another time... maybe when I feel a little more comfortable talking about it." Y/N mumbled the last words to himself quietly.

The silence was palpable. It cut right through Y/N and it annoyed Flowey beyond belief. So to drown out the silence, Flowey turned on the TV as the news came on. Y/N turned to the TV as he watched carefully. It was mettaton behind the screen as Y/N let off a hum of surprise.
"Mettaton got a job as a news anchor?" Y/N asked as he turned to Frisk and Chara.
"Yeah." Frisk smiled. "He was really happy to get the job."
"Good for him." Y/N muttered as he remembered his fight with mettaton. 'Dodging his missiles did come at a cost' Y/N thought to himself as he looked at scars lining his body.

"On todays news." Mettaton grimaced as he picked up a piece of paper. "The Anti-monster group have caused more havoc in the town square. In protest, of monsters and humans mending relations." Y/N looked on as he gritted his teeth.
"Anti-monsters?" Y/N asked with confusion whilst his teeth stayed clenched.
"Yeah, they're considered a terrorist group. Their goal is to destroy monsters." Chara sullenly stated.
"I just don't see why monsters and humans can't get along... It was all in the past." Frisk groaned as she shook her head. Y/N slowly nodded in agreement.
"That's just how humans are, Frisk." Chara stated, her hatred for human kind of hadn't left her, no matter how much human friends she had made.
"Ever the superstitious. Us humans." Y/N matter of factly said as Chara and Frisk nodded.

"I just don't get it why?" Frisk said looking at Y/N. Y/N sighed as he held his head in his hands.
"For many reasons... some people are superstitious because humans and monsters are very different... some are superstitious because of the past... and others... are just down right despicable." Y/N stated as he walked up to the TV remote besides Flowey before changing the channel to a more happier channel.
"You think humans can be that despicable?" Frisk asked as Chara looked to Y/N waiting for a response. Y/N groaned as he sat back in his chair.
"Most definitely... humans can be horrible beings..." Chara went to say something to back up Y/N's statement but was prevented by Y/N. "However we can be beautiful creatures as well... our need for love is second to none in terms of the animal kingdom. We care for our newborns, we donate to charity... it's just a shame a few bad humans can make the whole of humanity look irredeemable." Chara stopped to think about what Y/N said as Frisk smiled at Y/N.
"Like you? I mean you already seem very nice. You forgave asgore after everything he had done to you."
"Heh... I'm no angel. I've done some messed up stuff to people... and monsters... but what made me like this is... well that need for love."
"Huh?" Chara and Frisk asked as they turned their heads slightly.
"But you seem so... I don't know... merciful?" Chara looked at Y/N as he sighed.
"Don't call me that..."

"I'm back!" Asgore smiled as he placed a freshly baked cinnamon and butterscotch pie on the table. The aroma made Y/N smile. Almost as good as Toriels cooking... almost.
"Smells great." Y/N complimented as Asgore sheepishly scratched the back of his head.
"Thank you Y/N. I'm sure it doesn't come close to Tori's cooking."
"To be fair, it's close... Tori?" Y/N looked confused as he took a slice of pie.
"Dad still calls mom that." Chara bluntly stated before sighing. Asgore had never quite got over toriel. "He never did get over her." Chara sadly added. In some way she blamed herself for that.
"Well Y'know, some people just can't. But hey, I'm sure you'll find someone again. It's a big world." Y/N smiled as Asgore thanked Y/N.

"Right so that discussion then..."

(...)

4 days had gone by since their discussion with Asgore. Asgore had took Y/N in temporarily as the long term fix was for Y/N to stay with Chara and Frisk. But they wanted to make a room for Y/N first so he'd be staying at Asgores for a few weeks. Their discussion wasn't about much, just general topics. Such as what the other monsters had been doing once they had got to the surface. Toriel had become a school teacher, sans had got some dead end 9-5 office job, papyrus and undyne were royal guardsmen to protect monster kind in a more personal way, alphys was still a scientist and working with gaster, mettaton was obviously a news host but still did game shows as a side gig, napstablook became a musician, and Frisk and Chara were ambassador to humans. Asgore was also one but was more of the leader of the monsters still.

Y/N wasn't lying down with no purpose however. Today was Sunday and he had promised that kid asriel that he would play baseball with him. So now he was getting ready to have a crack at the ball. He had been given some clothes to wear by asgore which were more sporty and was now leaving his temporary residence to go back to that area he had first met Asriel.

And so now he was standing over the young boy, his 6 foot figure dwarfing the young boy as the boys lips grew wide with joy as he hugged Y/N.
"You came! You actually came!"
"Sure did kid. Wouldn't miss this for the world." Y/N smiled as he ruffled the young lads hair.
"Do you want to bat first or?" Asriel held the bat in front of Y/N as he rejected it.
"You can."
"Okay! You can be the pitcher then!" Asriel smiled as he gave Y/N a few baseballs.

Y/N walked a few feet away from Asriel as the boy prepared himself.
"Okay kid, these aren't going to be too quick. Don't want to hurt ya." Y/N warned as Asriel nodded. Y/N pitched the ball slowly as Asriel slammed it with his might sending it flying. Once he saw how far he'd hit it Asriel apologised only for Y/N to turn around with a look of pure joy written on his face. "That was brilliant kid!"
"Really! You think?" Asriel smiled as stars grew in his eyes.
"Definitely. Not even I could hit the ball like that when I was your age." Y/N complemented as Asriel sheepishly thanked him. 'This kid's certainty talented. His parents must be proud.' Y/N thought to himself as a small smile was edged onto his face.

"Okay this one's going to be a lot quicker now."
"Give me the best you've got!" Asriel confidently called back as Y/N seemed pleasantly surprised at the confidence. Y/N pitched another ball this time with just about 25% of his pitching strength. Asriel again cracked the ball like no other sending it flying.
"Wow." Y/N smiled as Asriel ran up to Y/N.
"That was amazing wasnt it?"
"Sure was. Surprised even me." Asriel again grew a look of pure joy. Ever since he had first met Y/N, he had practiced and practiced to impress the older boy. "You have a go now. I want to see what you've got."
"Sure thing kid." Y/N took the bat from asriel as he walked away from the boy.

Asriel pitched a ball as Y/N slammed it. This impressed even himself.
"Guess you never lose it huh." Y/N quietly says as Asriel compliments Y/N. The two spent the next few hours cracking balls around the place and once they were all gone they went to retrieve them.

Once they had enough, Asriel proposed Y/N an idea.
"Hey Y/N." Asriel looked at Y/N as Y/N gave a small smile at the kid.
"What's up kid?" Y/N asks
"Do you want to meet my parents?"
"I mean only if they would want me to be around." Asriel shook his head slightly of course they would want him around after all it was Frisk and Chara. Not that Y/N knew that yet.
"They would definitely love you!" Asriel smiled as Y/N chuckled.
"Sure then kid. I'd love to meet your parents..."
