Thane's POV
I walked past Jaace's room, heading to my own, when I heard bits of a conversation coming from there. So he wasn't lieing this morning when he told me he was going to show my selection girls what a real man is capable of. It seems after today I will only have 7 selection girls. Currently I have eight girls here, but if one of them is behind that door then they are gone. Here's the list of people left.
Blaire Chase 3
Quinn Meyer 2
Sabri Mercer 4
Lakota Gabden 3
Elissa Duff 4
Emily Helmic 5
Berkley Wild 4
Coirtney Harle 4I barge through the door and start yelling without seeing who was in the room. "Get out of this castle, and go back to your home. You cheater. Jaace how could you do this to me!"
"Thane shut up! I don't want any of your oh, so precious selections girls. Get out of my room!" Jaace yelled at me. I finally started to take in my surrounding, and I saw a girl I had never met sitting on Jaace's bed.
"Hello Prince Schreave." She said polietly, as if I hadn't yelled at her. He hopped off Jaace's bed and curtsied low. "I'd best be going."
"I will hear nothing of the sort." Jaace says. He stands up from the chair he was sitting in by the bed, and gently pulls the girl up to a standing position. "Get out of my room!" He shouts at me. The girl flinches, but doesn't move away from him.
Without saying anything to him, I turn around and leave his room. I walk a bit farther till I get to my door. I don't have any guards around like usual, but ignore this fact thinking they are being tested or something.
I walk though my door, and see two people sitting on my bed. "Hi Thane!" My sister ran up and gave me a hug.
" What are you two doing in here?" I asked. I really just want to be alone for a while because I am having an awful day.
"Well, I came to talk to you after you had rushed out of the dinning room to make sure you are okay. I came to your room, and it was locked. I lefted you alone and talked to mom for a while. When I came back to check on you, your room was unlocked, and you weren't in it. I was just going to wait for you until Blaire came to see if you were okay. Since then we have just been talking and waiting." My sister explained.
"Why are you here?" I ask Blaire. She looked a little bit offended at the tone of voice I used.
"I was coming to see if our date was still on because you said you would pick me up at my room, and you never showed up." She said. I totally forgot about it, but I wasn't in the mood to hangout.
"I'm sorry. I'll make it up to you soon, but I can't right now." I felt bad about ditching her, but not bad enough to let her stay longer. She took my cue and left.
I moved closer to my bed, and I tripped. I hit my nose on my floor, but didn't bother to get up. Amberly came and sat by my head. "What's wrong? This all can't be from Jaace."
"McKenzie cheated on me, so kicked her out. " I heard Amberly gasp.
"McKenzie wouldn't. You must have misunderstood her." My sister said.
"Well she did, and I know I didn't misunderstand her because I saw her making out with a gaurd." I said my voice cracking.
"I'd go talk to dad. He had something like this happen in his selection." Amberly, the smart one with all the advice.
"Thanks." I said getting off the floor. I went into my bathroom to see how I looked, and decided it was good enough. I hugged Amberly, and went to dad's office.
I knocked twice, but didn't wait for him to tell me to enter. He was already almost to his feet. "What's wrong?" He asked urgently.
"I just really need to talk to you." I said.
"Talk away." My father said sitting back down.
"McKenzie is gone. How do you deal with this heartbreak feeling?" I said. He looked dumbfounded for a moment.
"What happened Thane?" He asked.
" She loved another, so I let her go because I love her." My father looked at me for a moment before saying his answer.
"I'm sorry, I don't have an answer to your question. I have only ever loved your mother. Your mother is in our room, and I sadly think she has more experience then me in that area."
