The Begining

Chaptter 17 -The Begining- Thane POV
19 years old

My stomach churned at the mere thought of 35 girls fighting over me. "Thane relax bud. Everything will turn out just fine, and you will find the perfect girl. Ask your father how he felt. He might have something to shine on the topic. Be sure your ready to go live in two hours. And Happy Birthday,  make sure you tell your siblings." My mother told me. Her speech did little to help my stirring nerves. I guess sitting in my room is not going to help any. The place I have to go is either my sister or my dad. My dad is always busy so I will try not to bother him, but I will go talk to Amberly.

Just getting out of the palace is a relief. Amberly suggested thay we take a walk through the garden to let off some steam. " Please calm down Thane. I am actually excided for the girls to come. Maybe I can actually make a friend or two. I can also be an undercover agent to see the girls real personalites. I heard that is what mom did for dad, but eventually started to love him. Isn't it the cutest story ever! And Happy Birthday!" she said.

" Happy Birthday to you too! I guess you could help me when the girls come. Thanks for talking with me, but I think I really need to talk to dad. See you later." I said sligtly jogging away. It's not like I'm leaving here by herself becuase Emmett(her gaurd) is watching her. I assumed father was in his office,  so I would start looking for him there. I knocked on the door with four quick taps.

"Come in son." my dad said from behind the door.

As I was opening the door I asked, "How did you know it was me?"

"I knew because your mother just walks in, and your sister usually knocks twice. Plus today is the day your future wife's name will be announced publicly with 34 other girls. I remember how I felt."

"I need some advice.  How do you do this? How do you know she's the one?"

" I know if I have ever told you this story,  but it would have been tomarrow if this was my selection. You are not suppost to see the girls until the day after tomarrow,  but I saw your mom a day early. She was freaking out and a guard wouldn't let her out of the palace, but I made him. I followed her outside. She yelled at me and kick me where the sun don't shine. I was going to throw her out, but I didn't.  After that she was my confident,  the girl I talked to. She was like my best friend. I never thought that I would end up marrying her, and I almost didn't. What I am saying is that my advice is don't make rash decision. " he said.

" Thanks dad.  That really helped. See you in an hour." I feel that I can do this. Lets get this started.

*********** 1 hour later ************

Oh my gosh! Oh myyy gosh! It's really happening. I am going to have 35 girls announced in minutes for my wife.

"King Maxon how nice to see you." Gravil's son said. Yes Preston followed in his dad's footsteps and became the palace's next interviewer guy.

"You also Preston." My father replied.

"I guess it is time to start reading the names of the 35 lovely girls that will be coming to the palace in two days time. Let's begin.

Katlyn Lemay 5" he kept droning on. A couple girls stood out. The first is definitely Blaire Chase. She is beautiful, and I know this because he picture pops up in the corner of the television screen where I can see what I look like to the rest of the country. The other two are McKenzie Baets and Quinn Meyer. I hope I will get to know them better.
