She looked at the mirror as her long hair covered her back, it's silky and voluminous form was being constantly abused by a purple hairbrush that tried to straightened some of her curly spilt ends.
Jeongeui closed her eyes as her mother combed her hair, she wore a white dress and white slippers and a small silver bracelet. Her face showed no emotion, even if she wasn't happy on what was going on.
"Remember what i told you Jeongeui? Always smile but be sophisticated." Her mother said as she combed Jeongeui's hair. The little girl said nothing.
She held onto her mother's hand loosely as she took her downstairs, her face held no emotion but internally Jeongeui was screaming. Her family was forcing her to do something and she didn't know what.
Bodyguards filled her family living room as little Jeongeui tried to see what the bodyguards were securely protecting, slowly her mother let go of her hand, leaving Jeongeui confused and vuinerable.
The bodyguards started moving aside one by one and who Jeongeui saw she didn't expect.
He was a little boy , brown hair, tall for his age. He grinned softly but it wasn't too sincere. He wore all white and held his head high. Jeongeui looked at him speechless.
"Jeongeui meet Prince Quànrui."
The memory faded as Jeongeui laid on her bed on her side, she couldn't get any sleep and stared at the cold white wall in silence. If only she could go back and tell her family she doesn't want to marry Quànrui but someone else....
Sitting up Jeongeui went over to the drawer next to her bed, taking out a picture containing her and Zhang Hao. If only she could be with him, she wouldn't have to endure Quànrui unable to love her and give her a chance. If only she could be with the one her heart yearns for.
Jeongeui sat down on the floor craddling the picture tightly.
Elise entered her room in a daze, still holding the heels in her hands, Elise blinked back the memories of her date with Quànrui and it unexpectedly brought a blush to her cheeks.
Squealing loudly, a loud deep chuckle escaped her lips as Elise brought the heels to her mouth unsuccessfully covering her loud chuckles.
"Why was it better than i anticipated?" Elise questioned to herself as she walked over to her bed slowly.
She thought of how Quànrui removed her heels for her, the two eating, talking, looking at the stars together then...
Elise froze in her spot as her eyes widened.
She remembered kissing him on the cheek as a surge of confidence washed over her. Falling to her knees in despair, Elise screamed, her voice gruff and harsh.
"I kissed him! Why! " Else screamed out to herself. Yes she was making a lot of noise and really needed to go back to sleep, but she was freaking out.
Reaching for her phone on her nightstand, Elise dialed Zai Zai number. Her hip on her hand as she impatiently waited for her best friend to pick up.
"Hello?" Zai Zai answered over the phone, her voice sluggish and soft. Elise jumped.
"Zai Zai! I need to tell you something!" Elise said slightly panicking as she began to pace around her room. "Elise what is it? It's 2 in the morning." Zai Zai complained causing Elise to roll her eyes, her friend loved her sleep.
"So i went on the date with Prince Quànrui after winning today's challenge and we connected...sort of." Elise began as she furrowed her eyebrows, Zai Zai hummed on the other side indicating she was listening.
"And as the date was coming to a close, we were gazing at the stars and.. i kissed him." Elise said, she heard a loud thud to the ground before Zai Zai was coughing frantically.
"Come again? What!" Zai Zai said as Elise bit her lip "It was only on the cheek though!" Elise corrected as Zai Zai scoffed. "You don't even look at men with any kind of romantic affection, this is a big deal!" Zai Zai said as Elise sat down on her bed groaning softly.
"Every time I'm around Quànrui i get so nervous, the first time we talked was at the yard..."
"Wait what? You've talked to him privately before?" Zai Zai said as Elise regretted slipping that out, her best friend is gonna kill her for keeping this information hidden from her.
"It was a long time ago, i was walking in the yard and i heard someone walking behind me. In usual Elise style i jumped that person and punched their eye not knowing it was the Prince." Elise explained and the sound that came out of Zai Zai's mouth sounded demonic.
"This is the storyline straight out of a drama! He likes you Elise!" Zai Zai said excitedly as Elise shook her head. "I don't know though, wouldn't he want someone who looks like Rahne or Jeongeui at least?" Elise said as Zai Zai scoffed.
"No! I won't let them take your moment, especially that frog looking peasant named Rahne!" Zai Zai spat out as Elise widened her eyes in shock.
" You deserve love Elise, c'mon you've been the second choice your whole life forcing you to build your walls, if the Crown Prince of China wants you then he wants you, you're pretty and extremely charismatic. I would want you too!" Zai Zai said causing Elise to smell widely.
"If you say so then."
Quànrui laid restless in his bed as he looked at his ceiling and the chandelier that hanged so elegantly.
His mind replayed the cheek kiss over and over again and he couldn't stop grinning. "Did she kiss my cheek because she thought i was cute?" Quànrui whispered to himself as his eyebrows furrowed. "I'm the Crown Prince everyone think I'm cute." He debated softly to himself before he laid on his side.
"But i want Elizabeth no Elise to think I'm cute." He chuckled softly as his stomach were invaded by multiple butterfiles at a time.
