Chapter 10: Could It Be?

They looked back and forth between Jisung and Hyunjin, there was nothing wrong at all but the way that they made eye contact and acknowledged each other was enough for the members to be curious as to what happened between them. It was weird, but a good weird.

It was another day at the practice room, everything was going well until Jisung stumbled through his steps. As usual, everyone in the room snapped their eyes toward Hyunjin while waiting for another snarky remark. What took them by surprise was that Hyunjin sighed and walked towards Jisung with a fond look in his eyes.

"You alright?" Changbin had to visibly gasped at that question, the members looked at each with bewilderment, as if they weren't expecting that to happen ever. "If you need a break, we can take a break." Jisung took a deep breath and that made everyone tense with how he would react.

Jisung nodded, "I think I kind of do, is that okay?" Hyunjin smiled widely at him, patting his cheeks before announcing that they needed a break. The members didn't move for a moment, waiting until Hyunjin and Jisung went outside before they all exclaimed with questions that they couldn't answer themselves.

"What the hell just happened?"

"Did Hyunjin and Jisung finally get on good terms?!"

"How did all of that happen? What happened?!"

"Everyone, calm down!" Chan announced, they all gathered up in a circle with their questions staying unsolved. "Okay. We can't overwhelm both of them with questions. Something happened, that's obvious but let's not bombard them. Is that understood?" They all nodded.

Felix hummed, "I'm so curious though. How did that happen in like... a day?"

"Yeah! Weren't they just fighting yesterday?" Jeongin piqued. "Plus, wasn't the vacation incident also super bad that they didn't want to acknowledge each other?"

"It must have been from yesterday. I think they finally talked things out." Minho sighed, "At least, there's no more this and that." They all looked at each other before suddenly dispersing when they all heard the door opening. Hyunjin and Jisung looked at them then looked at each other then looked back at them.

"Did something happen?" Hyunjin asked. They all stayed quiet as Jisung snickered.

"All of you are terrible liars. What's up?"

"The roof. Jisung-ah." Minho walked towards him, holding his hand. "Let's go, I have something to say." Hyunjin frowned at seeing their hands together then looked away to see Seungmin looking at him with a questionable gaze. He put on a fake smile and walked towards him instead.

"You probably know that we're curious." Seungmin whispered to him, "But, I won't ask if you don't feel like explaining." Hyunjin gave him a smile as a sign of appreciation.

He looked towards Jisung and Minho, "Thanks Seungmin." Taking a deep breath, he chose to ignore the ugly clench in his heart as if that wasn't already another sign of another upcoming fight... with a difference from their relationship now.

"Don't look at me with those questioning eyes." Jisung sighed, sitting beside Minho. "I know you're curious too."

"No, I'm not." Jisung raised an eyebrow in amusement, "Maybe a little." This made Jisung snicker at the glare that Minho gave him.

"It's just... Is it reasonable to say that we just made up?"

"Whatever floats your boat." Minho shrugged, "It's not my business unless you make it my business." Jisung looked at him with fondness.

"Thanks hyung, for understanding." He smiled, "Even if everything got messy, you always have been there for me." Hearing those words from Jisung suddenly caught Hyunjin's attention despite telling himself that he won't eavesdrop.

Those words are far too familiar for him that it made him feel another break in his heart but who is he to comment on it? They're not together, he does not need to butt in with Jisung's business with other people... Even if it hurts a bit.

They're just friends. His angel side says.

Or not. His devil side whispers.

Hyunjin sighs heavily, melting into a puddle as Seungmin tucks him in a hug. Felix joins in on their cuddle pile, easily weaving in. "You and Jisung, huh?" Felix mutters quietly, and Hyunjin lets out a breath.

"What do you mean by that?" He asks.

"Well... You're not exactly subtle Jin-ah." Felix says, "You've been glaring at MinSung as soon as they were together." Seungmin snorts, looking away when Hyunjin side-eyes him.

"We have nothing together." Hyunjin clearly lies and he knows that both Seungmin and Felix are not convinced. "We just made up. There's nothing else."

Felix lets out a small smile, "If you say so." He shooks his head then turns his attention to his phone. Hyunjin looks up from Felix, catching Jisung's eyes looking at him before he turns away with his ears catching red.

Cute. His mind suddenly gasps.

Shut it. He attacks.

"It's nice though." Seungmin talks, taking his eyes off of Jisung. "That both of you finally acknowledge each other's presence now."

Changbin butts in. "Yeah! Do you know how horrible it is to hear you guys fighting?" Hyunjin snickers, "I'm a victim of being in the middle of it especially when Jisung rants so much-"

"He rants about me?" He suddenly gets interested, "What does he say? How hor-"

"I didn't say anything that is far horrible." Jisung shows up, startling all of them. Minho slides in and automatically attaches himself to Jisung as if that isn't enough to upset Hyunjin. "I ranted because of the way you treated me before but we're past that now... right?"

Hyunjin softly smiles, "Yeah. We're okay now." Jisung smiles too. Their hearts feeling much more lighter than before.

It is finally final now. They're okay. They'll make it.

Even if they're not together... Hyunjin keeps his smile at bay despite the haunting whisper in the back of his head. He hates it but he's much more happy that Jisung is okay with him now.

"It gets tiring after a while too." Minho supplies, "Watching you two fight. It's as if you both broke up with each other. But, that's crazy!" He and Jisung freezes, eyes snapping to Minho.

"No- no! Of course, we're just... Rivals, we just fought about- about academics or some shit." Hyunjin awkwardly laughs, Jisung following along.

"Yeah, it's crazy if we are exes that happen to see each other and just hate them so much. You know?" They make eye contact, glaring at the other's obvious lie.

"That would honestly make a story." Felix perks up, "Imagine, enemies to lovers trope!" Hyunjin blushes at that, looking away as soon as Felix starts making up a story as if it isn't enough for his heart to combust.

Enemies to lovers, huh?
