Chapter 2: This Stays Between Us

When Jisung had told the words that he'll 'work on it' doesn't mean that he'll be in any way friendlier towards Hyunjin. Even if they do try to 'work on' whatever conflict that they have, it will always going to be there, especially with the past that none of the others knew about.

"What do you want, Hwang?" He gritted out with fake kindness as soon as he got a view of Hyunjin entering the studio. It was already around midnight, and he, Changbin, and Chan have been working together since earlier but Changbin had been the first to go home and Chan bought coffee for the both of them which is why he is alone at the moment. The others were having a dance practice as well before they went back to the dorms.

It was a surprise to see Hyunjin, of all people, to still be here. Although in the back of his mind, he knew why Hyunjin is still here even if he hates to admit it, he and Hyunjin still had moments together.

Hyunjin glared, "First things first, I was forced to come to get your fucking ass. You really like burdening people, huh?" Jisung rolled his eyes, huffing before he goes to focus back on the screen.

"Just say you miss me and go." Hyunjin scoffed at that, "Fuck off, will you? Can't you see that I am quite busy? Unlike you."

"Are you implying as well that the others are doing the same? Selfish as ever." Hyunjin mocked back, but Jisung ignores him as he continues doing what he was doing before. "If you don't want me to pull out the plug of that computer, you better get fucking going." Jisung knew that Hyunjin doesn't back away from his words so he quickly did save his world before the computer screen turned black.

"You fucker!" He slams his hands down on the table, pushing the chair back with force as he turns to face Hyunjin. "What the fuck is wrong with you?! Didn't I tell you that I'm working!" An unknown emotion flashed in Hyunjin's eyes, something similar to worry before it dispersed back to irritation.

"I did give you a warning, didn't I?" Hyunjin smirked in victory, turning around to leave the fuming Jisung, however, that backfired. Just as he was about to open the door, it slammed close with a loud bang. He could see in the corner of his eyes the hand that Jisung lay beside his head.

"I asked you, what the fuck is your problem?" He faced Jisung, his face inches close to him. His eyes are blazing in anger, his jaw clenched as if he is resisting making any other moves. "What. The. Fuck. Is. Your. Problem." He repeated with more punctuation to the words.

Hyunjin's hand shot up, holding Jisung's collar tightly into a fist. "I have no problems at all, Han. I told you, I was forced to get your stubborn ass back. It's not like I wanted to have anything to do with you!" He pushed Jisung away, making the other stumble back on his steps. "You're nothing to me anymore. You're nothing." He said the last words in a whisper but it was loud and clear in the room that only the two of them are in. Jisung looked down at the floor, his fists clenched by his sides.

Hyunjin shakes his head, turning and opening the door just as Jisung catches his wrist. Chan reveals himself from the other side of the door with two coffees in hand. "Oh! You're here, Hyunjin-ah!" He smiles at him, entering and seeing Jisung holding onto Hyunjin's wrist.

"Did I miss something?" His eyes darted between Hyunjin and Jisung, putting the coffee down on the table. "Why is the computer off?"

"Changbin-hyung and Minho-hyung told me to go get the two of you." He glanced at Jisung, "But, someone's making a ruckus instead." Chan watched the both of them before he sighs.

Jisung perked up, letting go of his hold on Hyunjin. "I was thinking that we should both get home, that's why the computer is off! It's pretty late." He sheepishly smiled at Chan, walking to get the Iced Americano that Chan bought for him. "Thanks for the coffee, hyung!"

"Ah, I still want to work on something real quick. I'll pack right after you, alright? You and Hyunjin go ahead. Yeah?" He smiled guiltily and sat down on the chair where Jisung was previously sat.

"But, hyung!" Jisung whined, hearing Hyunjin making a gagging sound, and stopped when Jisung snapped his eyes toward him. "It's already late!" He desperately doesn't want to have Hyunjin to be anywhere near him or have any conversation brought up.

"It'll be a good time to bond!" Jisung stared at him in disbelief. Bond? What bond? "It's good to talk with each other about your problems. It's to grow closer to one another!" Chan didn't let any of them speak as he shooed them away and slams the door in their faces, but before he did that, he pats their head and says his goodbye, and stay safe.

This was a very bad idea. They might as well just kill each other for goodness sake! Nothing could ever be brought back with just a talk between them or well that's what they both thought.

Hyunjin took a deep breath, "Well, you're on your own." He started walking away as quickly as possible and Jisung had a difficult time chasing after him. Even if he hates being with the douchebag, he isn't risking himself by walking alone by himself.

"Hey! Don't leave me, you bastard!" Jisung finally caught with him, panting as he speaks out "Look, Hwang... Wait, let me breathe." Hyunjin rolled his eyes, still speeding up on his steps until they both have a few distances away.

"I... I said wait! God, I am out of shape." Hyunjin still didn't pay any mind to him. "Look, I don't want the team to feel down because of you pettiness-"

"My pettiness? You sure that it isn't yours?" Jisung sighed, rolling his shoulders to release the tension and tiredness.

"Will you just let me speak and shut the fuck up?" Hyunjin closes his mouth, pursing it in thought then shaking his head. "I don't even want to talk to you but you know that the others will force us even if they go as far as locking us in a closet. I don't fucking care about your... your feelings but I don't want to be questioned anymore of anything connected to you." Jisung harshly said.

Hyunjin lets out a laugh of disbelief. "You want to play pretend? What are we, five? I don't care what you tell the others or what excuses you want to come up with but I don't want to be reminded of anything about you."

"You said it. Not me." Jisung smiled sadly, looking away before Hyunjin catches it. "It is settled. This stays between us. Don't try to drag any of the members about it."

"How are you so sure that it would be me and not you? Out of the two of us, you're the one who's always dragging everyone just to have the things done in your way." Before Jisung could comment on it, they reached their dorm. Hyunjin halted on his steps, his hand on the doorknob.

"I don't care about what happens to you anymore. You did what you did and I will never forgive you for that."

"You misunderstand. You should be the one apologizing and I should never be asking for your forgiveness. I didn't know I was talking to a fucking prince, what do you want me to do? Beg? Why are you even putting the blame on me when clearly, it's your fault!" Jisung hissed, Hyunjin turned his head and was about to argue when the door opened by itself.

Minho revealed himself, his eyes narrowing at the sight of the two of them. "If you fight in front of the dorm, none of you will step inside ever again." They swallowed their anger, hanging their heads down. "I don't know what's going on with the two of you, but you better sort it out." Minho let the words sink into their brain before leaving them with the door open for them to come in.

The two stayed still before they unconsciously told each other the same thing.

"This stays between us."

They looked at each other, "I wouldn't want it any other way. It's a deal." Hyunjin says then left Jisung alone.
