Giyu's eyes widened in shock, his mind racing. He instinctively tried to pull away, but then Sanemi pinched him lightly on the back, a silent signal. Giyu understood. This was all part of the act. So, he gave in, wrapping his arms around Sanemi's shoulders, deepening the kiss just as fireworks exploded in the sky above them.

For a moment, everything around them faded—the noise, the tension, even Sabito's presence. All Giyu could feel was Sanemi's warmth and the flutter of emotions that surged through him. When they broke the kiss, Giyu looked up at the sky. The fireworks lit up the night, but inside, he felt something shift—something that made him feel lighter, like a burden had finally lifted.

"You good?" Sanemi whispered, his breath warm against Giyu's ear.

Giyu smiled, genuinely this time. For the first time in months, the tightness in his chest wasn't there. "Yeah... I'm good."

Sanemi turned back to Sabito, who stood there fuming, his fists clenched. "I hope that convinces you we're together," Sanemi said smugly, wiping his lips.

"Shut up, you asshole," Sabito growled, his face red with anger. "You look like a thug. Have you even seen yourself?"

Before Sanemi could respond, Giyu jumped in, his voice sharp, filled with anger he had buried for too long. "You're one to talk, Sabito."

Sabito's face twisted in fury, and in one swift motion, he grabbed Giyu by the collar, pulling him close. "How dare you kiss him, huh? I knew you were the one who cheated! You're always hanging around those idiots at the pub, specially flirting with that flashy ass guys. You never deserved me!"

Giyu froze, but before he could react, Sanemi was already there. In a flash, Sanemi grabbed Sabito by the arm and threw a punch, landing squarely on his face. Sabito stumbled back, blood trickling from his nose.

"You dare lay a hand on him again, and I swear I'll break your face," Sanemi growled, standing over Sabito. "And you're the one calling him names? You were the one who cheated, you little—"

Chaos erupted as Sanemi and Sabito lunged at each other, yelling insults and throwing punches. Sabito's new boyfriend tried to break them up, but the fight was spiraling out of control. Giyu, now on the verge of tears, stood there frozen, his mind spinning.

He wasn't going to cry. Not here. Not again. This wasn't who he wanted to be anymore.

Summoning every ounce of strength, Giyu stepped forward, grabbing Sanemi's arm. "Shinazugawa, stop!" His voice trembled but was firm. "Let's go. He's not worth it."

Sanemi, panting heavily, glanced back at Giyu. His anger slowly subsided as he saw the pain in Giyu's eyes. Without another word, Giyu took Sanemi's hand and started pulling him away, running away from the fight, from Sabito, from everything.

"Tomioka, wait!" Sanemi called, struggling to keep up as Giyu dragged him along the snowy path. When they finally stopped, far enough from the chaos behind them, Sanemi shook his arm free from Giyu's grip. "What the hell, Giyu? Why did you stop me? He deserved to get his ass kicked."

Giyu turned to face him, his breath coming in shallow bursts, his eyes glistening with unshed tears. "Because... because I don't want you to fight for me like that. Not like this. I don't need you to protect me from him. I just... I need to let go."

Sanemi's anger softened, his concern showing through as he took a step closer to Giyu. "Let go?" he repeated gently. Without a word, he removed his scarf and carefully draped it around Giyu's neck, pulling him into a firm embrace, running a hand through his hair "Idiot... I've got your back"

Hearing those words, Giyu clung to Sanemi, his grip tight and desperate. This time, when the tears came, they were quieter—less about pain, more about release. As he wiped his eyes with the back of his hand, Giyu looked up at Sanemi with a small, bittersweet smile. "I know...Thank you... for everything."

And as they stood there, with the faint sound of fireworks still echoing in the distance, Giyu realized that maybe—just maybe—he could finally start to heal.

As the fireworks continued to light up the sky, Giyu finally let go of the last pieces of Sabito that had been weighing him down. And standing there, with Sanemi by his side, he realized that moving on didn't mean erasing the past—it just meant letting go of what no longer served him.
