As they reached their apartment, Giyu headed straight to the kitchen to make some coffee. Sanemi went to his room, returning with a small gift in hand. He walked over to Giyu and handed it to him.
"Here, it's your Christmas gift," Sanemi said, a little gruffly, as he gave the present to Giyu.
Giyu opened it carefully. Inside was a pendant-a sleek silver electric guitar, detailed with black accents on the pickguard and fretboard. A small star charm was attached at the top, enhancing its bold, rock-inspired aesthetic. It dangled from a thin chain, catching the light just right.
Giyu smiled, holding the pendant in his hands. "It's beautiful, Shinazugawa. Thank you," he said, genuinely touched.
Sanemi looked away, almost embarrassed. "Yeah, well... whatever."
"Now," Giyu continued with a grin, "let's eat the cake."
Sanemi blinked. "Wait, you brought cake too?"
"Of course I did! It's Christmas," Giyu replied, smiling widely. It was a rare sight, and Sanemi couldn't help but feel like some of the weight he carried in his heart had been lifted, if only for a moment.
They both enjoyed their meal and the cake. Afterward, they retreated to their rooms. Giyu lay in bed, feeling an unusual sense of peace. The stress from Sabito's recent behavior and the heartbreak he'd caused had weighed heavily on him, but now, he felt lighter. As he clutched his pillow, he drifted off into a much-needed sleep.
Meanwhile, Sanemi was lying in his own bed, wide awake, his mind racing. He couldn't stop thinking about their kiss. His thoughts ran wild. "Damn it... his lips were softer than any girl's. And they tasted sweet, like candy." He groaned and threw his arm over his eyes. "Ugh, my head!" But eventually, exhaustion overtook him, and he too fell asleep.
After that Christmas day, Giyu and Sanemi grew closer than ever before. They started talking more, confiding in each other. Some days later, Giyu received the message of arrive from his friend. Giyu had cooked a meal for the occasion, and now he and Sanemi were waiting on the couch for their friends to arrive.
"When do you think they'll get here?" Giyu asked, flicking through the TV channels. "I really missed Tengen and Kyo."
"You didn't miss anyone else?" Sanemi asked.
"Well, yeah, I did. But not as much as I-" Before Giyu could finish his sentence, there was a knock at the door. He and Sanemi exchanged glances. Giyu jumped up and rushed to open it.
"Welcome home, bitches!" Giyu said, his voice full of excitement.
"Wow, looks like someone was dying to see us," Tengen said with a smirk as he walked into the room.
"Yeah, missed you so much," Giyu replied, hugging Tengen. But as Tengen wrapped his arms around him, he gave Giyu's butt a cheeky squeeze.
Giyu immediately pulled away, "Seriously, Tengen! You jerk!"
Tengen laughed. "You know you missed me."
"Oh, hello, Shinazugawa and Giyu," Rengoku said, entering behind Tengen. "I hope you both had a wonderful Christmas."
Mitsuri bounced in after him, plopping herself onto the couch. "I brought so much stuff! And I have some gifts for you, Giyu! Wanna see?" she asked, excitedly digging through her bags. "My mom made all of this. It's a ton of homemade treats!"
