"Mama, can you lay with me before you leave?" Andi questioned the woman, the boy staring at her expectantly as he held his arms out to her. She'd just told him goodnight for the last time until she got back from Bull riding and she wouldn't dare deny the chance to hold him one more time."Of course, sunshine." She breathed out, a smile warming her face which made Andi smile as well. She kneeled on his bed and laid on top of him, her arms connecting around his frame while he did the same.
"I'm going to miss you. Copper is too. Are you sure Uncle Bash can't take me to one of your rides?" He asked and she swore her heart cracked at his words. It was never easy leaving him.
"I'll be all the way across the country, bud, and you've got school. Luckily, you're almost done with this year so in May and June, you can come along with me if you want. How does that sound?" She picked her head up to stare at him, her grip tightening.
He let out a giggle and grinned, "I guess that's okay. I just hope school hurries up, I want to travel with you and watch you ride in real life again."
Ty chuckled, her head shaking side to side in amusement. "It will, Andi, trust me. We can do anything you want while I'm not training or riding, yeah?"
"Can we go get ice cream every night?"
She raised an eyebrow and sent him a disapproving look. "Maybe not every night but yes, we'll go get you ice cream. I think I'll start calling you the ice cream boy since you love it so much." She grinned, pressing kisses across his face to make him laugh.
The pure sound pierced her ears and she felt whole again, knowing he would be okay while she was gone for two weeks.
"Okay, it's time for bed. I'll see you in a few weeks, alright? Be good for Uncle Bash and Grandpa, I don't need them calling me and telling me you got yourself in trouble." She slid off his bed and stood, reaching down to brush his curls from his forehead.
"I'm never bad, mama." He huffed, pulling his Spider-Man blanket up to his chin.
"I'm your mother, Andi, of course, you're bad at times, where do you think you got it from? But, I suppose that's not always a bad thing." She smiled, pressing one last kiss to his forehead before walking toward his door.
She turned back before exiting, an exhale leaving from her nose. "I love you, Andi. I'll see you soon."
"I love you, too, mama! I'll be watching you." He replied, turning over in his bed after she'd shut his door.
Bash was in the living room playing with Copper, the puppy now better after the few days they'd had him. She was surprised that the pup had learned things as quickly as he did. He was great in his kennel and had only had a few accidents around the house but what puppy doesn't?
His wound was healing quickly and he was more energetic than she'd originally thought but she knew he was perfect for Andi.
Now, she was finishing packing her bags before she'd have to leave for the airport in a few minutes. Bash had eaten dinner with them so that he could help with Andi so she could pack, which she was thankful for. He would be staying there while she was gone as usual.
Quinn and Casey were finally home with the twins and had been cooped up in their house for the few days they'd been there. Ty and Andi visited them as much as they could before she'd have to leave.
Kip was holed in his house or helping with the horses and cattle, one thing he loved doing more than anyone else. The two siblings hadn't spoken more than a few words to each other since that night she learned of his lie.
