Early the next morning, five-thirty to be exact, Ty had gone down to the breakfast bar to search for Oscar, having told him they needed to leave for the horse show at six since it was a four-hour drive and the show started at eleven.

She'd gone to bed at around twelve in the morning after tossing and turning with a broken arm, not so shyly thinking about her interaction with the man she'd invited to the horse show.

She'd overthought what would happen if he had decided to show up at the show and she frustratingly let out a huff and buried her face in her pillow while the pain in her ribs never ceased.

After four hours of sleep, she knew better than to stay in bed and wallow in between the sheets. Her ribs hurt even more as she moved around her hotel room to get dressed in her dark blue wranglers, a black tank top that she covered with a denim button-up that had its sleeves rolled up to her biceps since it couldn't cover her cast and sling, and dark brown boots.

She cleaned off her brown Stetson and had it on top of her brunette hair that she kept her natural wavy style. A pair of sunglasses and her scattered rings sitting on her fingers later, she was walking out of her hotel room and down to the elevator.

She wasn't necessarily hungry when she went to look for Oscar, figuring she could pick something up on the way to the show while she drove. When she found him, he was rubbing at his eyes at a table, an empty plate in front of him with a cup of half-drinkin coffee sitting there, no sign of the girl he'd brought the night before.

"Looks like you had a shit ton of fun last night. What time she leave?" She questioned, breaking him out of his drowsiness as he jumped.

Oscar blew out a breath and held the sides of his face in his hands, staring at the empty plate in front of him. "She hasn't, she's currently sleeping in my bed. And yeah, had a lot of fun until I realized I had no condoms on me, used the last one on Jenna back in Kentucky." He grumbled.

Ty squeezed her eyes closed in an attempt to focus on not laughing while a fist covered her lips. "So, you both just did appetizers last night or what...?"

He scoffed, turning to look up at her. "Don't get all funny now, Einstein. I remember when you got frustrated that you couldn't do it with that dude a few months ago. Came storming out of that hotel room with half of your clothes on."

She narrowed her eyes at him and clenched her teeth. "That was a one time thing and you promised you wouldn't ever bring that up again." He shrugged and Ty let out a huff. "Plus, he was horrible, didn't even know what he was doing until I finally gave up."

"Are we really talking about our sex life?"

"We've seen each other at our worsts, there's nothing more that could shock the other." She looked around as she brushed the topic off, noticing the sun beginning to peak above the horizon. "Alright, we need to leave. You ready?"

He held a finger up to her and grabbed his cup before chugging the rest of the liquid in it. A satisfying sigh left his lips as he stood from his seat and threw the cup into the trash can.

"What time you get in last night?" He questioned, walking beside her, barely avoiding hitting the wall during the time he hadn't been paying attention as they walked out of the hotel.

"Why do you want to know?" She side-eyed him, her left brow raised.

"I'm your best friend, of course, I want to know when you got in." He scoffed as if his answer had no doubt in it.

Ty pulled her lips into a thin line and stared at the truck a few feet away. "Did you seriously just say you're my best friend?"

"It's the truth, isn't it? Nobody else bugs you the way I do and stays at the hospital while you're hurt and complies when you bail out of it the next day, do they? I put up with you when no one else can, so, that's the definition of best friend." He rolled his brown eyes, the stubble on his cheeks moving slightly as he brushed a hand over his face.
