Everything was calm, too calm. Usually, there would be a sort of events that would make Ty's head ache with anger or anxiety and she'd go on about her week but nothing had happened and it was grating her nerves. She was used to arguments and fights but the ranch had continued to be deserted for the next few days. Kevin was off due to filming, Quinn and Casey were still at the hospital due to the Doctor's wanting to keep an eye on Cody's health, Bash was off in his own world with his mystery woman, and Kip either locked himself in his house or was missing from the ranch for hours — even days — on end.
A new storm was rolling in which made her nerves spike with anxiety.
You know that feeling you get when something bad is about to happen? Yeah, that's what she felt, and it was never good.
Tristan had called her three days after she brought the pup to him and had told her he'd fixed the animal up and needed to know what to do with him. Ty answered by telling him she'd pick him up in a few hours since she'd decided to keep it, knowing it would make her son happy.
She had been by the barn after Thalia called her to tell her that one of the horses was pregnant and she'd checked it out, planning to tell her Dad when he got back as it looked like it'd be a few months before she gave birth.
After talking with Thalia and Oliver for a few minutes, she drove over to Andi's school and picked him up, telling him that they were going to pick up his early birthday gift which he was ecstatic about and nearly jumped out of his seat after he'd buckled himself in.
"What do you think it is, sunshine?" She questioned as she drove, a smile lining her lips as she glanced at him in the rearview mirror.
"I don't know, maybe the drone that I want." He shrugged, looking off to the side as he thought about it. "Or the Spider-Man toy I saw at the store the other day. Are we getting that?"
Ty chuckled and shook her head at his enthusiasm, "I don't know, I guess you'll have to find out when we get there."
"Can you just tell me, mama? Please?" He begged, pouting his lips to persuade her.
"You look just like Uncle Kip when you do that." She grinned, hearing him huff from the backseat while he folded his arms over his chest.
After a few minutes of silence, she parked at the vet clinic but Andi hadn't suspected anything as she helped him out. "Okay, cover your eyes. You can't see it until we get in, alright?"
She could practically see his excitement as he listened to her, one of his hands hovering over his eyes while he not-so-shyly peeked between his fingers. Ty rolled her eyes and ushered him inside, Tristan standing there with his back turned to them as he talked with one of his employees.
He turned after the lady left and smiled at the sight of them, a blanket wrapped in his arms that concealed Andi's sight from the puppy he'd fixed up for her.
"Ty, Andi, how great it is to see you two." He walked over to the two of them, turning his attention to Andi as Ty carefully took the wrapped puppy in her arm, kneeling to the ground while Andi took in the sight of the clean multi-colored pup in her grasp.
His eyes brightened and his lips slowly turned upward into the biggest grin she'd ever seen. "Andi, meet your new pup. I know you've been asking for one for your birthday but I'm giving him to you early because I know you'll take care of him, right? This is a big responsibility and I hope you understand you'll be taking care of it with me, yeah?"
He eagerly nodded, "Yes, I will! I promise I will. Thank you, mama, this is the best birthday gift ever!" He squealed, taking the pup in his arms. "Can I name him whatever I want?"
