Cameron could feel an anxiety building inside him, students that are passing by him or some who are just standing in the hallway who are chatting notice his presence stares at him. He hated the stares, he just wanted to disappear into thin air so the staring could stop, but at the same time, he's lost, he doesn't know where the canteen is since he doesn't know any of the school directions, he can't ask any of these random students for help because they're making him uncomfortable by staring at him.
Deep thoughts start to flow in his thoughts...
Do they find him weird?
Is it because he's a foreigner?
What do they think of him?
If he asks for help, will they judge him?
He doesn't want to get bullied and it's just his first day.
So why are they staring... Please stop staring at me...
Please stop...
Please...
Plea–
"Hey... Cameron?" that familiar voice snaps him out of his thoughts, he turns around and sees Sam, giving him a concern expression...
His anxious expression turns into a bit of an irritation "What do you want?"
Sam scratches his head with an awkward smile "Well... I am going to the bathroom and I see you here, and you seem anxious... Are you okay?" his expression turns into worry which made Cameron feel weird, he didn't like the feeling...
"I'm fine, why are you worried for me anyway? Are you pitying me because I'm new?" he hated it, he hated being pitied.
And this question made Sam's feeling a bit jumped "What? No no, it's just that, you look anxious and you don't know the school directions so maybe I can help you find the place you needed to go" why does Cameron think so negative to any question he asks... Just why does he make things bad?
"Whatever... I don't need your help, I'll find the canteen myself" Cameron was about to walk away when he hears Sam's voice again.
"Oh okay, just go straight and once you reach the end, just turn left and then you'll find the canteen there!" That's what Cameron heard, he seems like he doesn't want to care but he just follows the direction Sam gave him, he's really hungry.
"Oh, he's just looking for the canteen, why didn't he ask us?" Some students asked the other.
Another whisper "Maybe he's just shy, I mean, he does look anxious as what Sam said earlier"
They definitely heard Cameron and Sam's small talk.
Cameron sees the canteen door at the end of the hall once he stops at the middle of the split hallway, he sighs in relief.
"I guess I'll thank that classmate later..." he continued to walk, as he was walking, he passed by the school nurse office "....at least I'll know where to go if I get injuries again..."
Meanwhile, Sam's just washing his hands in the boys bathroom...
'Why is he acting like that...' he stares in the mirror looking at his reflection, he sees a flashback of Cameron accusing his questions as something negative, as if he only sees many things as a negative thing and not something positive.
"Heyyyy Sam" again, Sam recognizes who that voice belongs to, he doesn't need to look at that person because he can see him in the mirror's reflection.
Those red hair and yellow eyes "Senior Vincent, hello" he gave him a nonchalant expression.
Vincent crosses his arms "Putting the Hello after my name means you're not that happy to see me" he smiles teasingly.
Sam dries his hands on a towel that's hanging on the side of the sink "I would've been okay to see you if you've not been the one who checked my quiz paper then putting a McDonald's sticker at each of my wrong answers" he stares annoyed at his senior.
"Pfft" Vincent tries to hold his laugh "Oh come on! You're lucky I can only put one because you only got one answer wrong" he's definitely teasing Sam.
A vein pops on Sam's cheek "Yea! Please stop putting McDonald's stickers on every paper of mine that you check! Especially if I have many wrong answers, because every time my mom sees those papers, she thinks that it's the teachers who put them on!" Sam argues.
"HAHAHAHA" Vincent is laughing like crazy "Oh come on, it's fun teasing you, and besides, we don't get to hang out anymore after I became junior year"
Sam face palm "Geez, why are you like this... And why does your class have to be one one checking my class's papers"
Vincent walks inside one of the stalls "Maybe fate loves me, but who knows!" he closes he stall.
Sam ignores him and walks out the bathroom.
He comes back to their classroom and he now sees 5 of his classmates already inside "Hello" he gives them a wave as they wave back and went back to chatting, he sits back on his seat then puts on his headphones to listen to some music.
Sam looks at the time and sees 15 minutes left before class starts, he puts his arms on his desk then leans on it so he can have this time left to rest. He doesn't hear it because of his headphones but two more people enters the classroom.
"Oh come on shorty, why don't you talk to me" Keira whines as she walks in front of Cameron.
Cameron stares at her with an annoyed expression "For the last time, can you leave me alone!?" his annoyed expression slowly turns into irritation "And can you please stop calling me shorty!?"
Kiera jokingly thinks "Nope, that nickname suits you" she smiled teasingly.
Now, Cameron is definitely annoyed "UGH!"
