The Night Walk

Chapter 5

As Sam enters the classroom, he spots Cameron who's just staring at the window, he seems to be watching the birds that are passing by.

Cameron just happens to look in his direction and sees him.

Sam smiles a little and gives him a small wave whom Cameron just ignores then comes back to stare at the window again. And this action made Sam sighs of frown as he just went towards his seat and placed his bag under his desk.

Someone taps him on the shoulder, and he doesn't need to look back to see who it is "Hey, hey hey, Sam" it's obviously Kiera.

He looks at her straightening his mouth "What?"

"Can I borrow your lecture in English? I wanna see if I missed a part" she placed her palm in front of him gesturing she needs it.

He just raises an eyebrow "What's wrong with your lecture?" but he still reaches in his bag to get his English notebook.

Kiera then places both her hands on his desk "Oh you know, Sir Goruu talks really fast and I couldn't keep up with him" she pouts.

"Here" he hands out his English notebook to her as she accepts it immediately.

She goes back to her seat "Thanks! Wov U" and that thank you cringes Sam, she always does this to every friend she asks for favors. But he still isn't used to it.

Minutes later...

English class is now starting, the teacher, Mr. Goruu is teaching while students are listening to his lectures, Mr. Goruu looks at the back of the class then sighs.

"Hyusung, can you wake Cameron up?" he said to a boy with dirty blonde hair who has green eyes, the whole class stared at the scene and they did see Cameron sleeping during class.

Hyusung shakes the sleeping Cameron "Hey, Cameron, wake up" he shakes him again as Cameron blinks his eyes many times to recall what's happening.

He realized that he slept during class "Oh uhh... Sorry, I fell asleep" he scratched his head awkwardly, while looking at Mr. Goruu weakly...

Mr. Goruu rubs his forehead "You might be tired but you can't sleep in class, kid" there's a bit of stoicism inside his voice.

"Sorry..." he looks down a bit, he doesn't like the attention he's getting from the whole class.

Mr. Goruu raises his hand "It's fine, just don't do it again" and with that, he goes back to teaching. And so does the whole class who goes back to listening.

Cameron had no choice but to listen even though he's still sleepy and tired, he does know why he's tired even though he had a long night sleep, he brushed it off as this is just going to be some other long day.

Meanwhile, Sam who also saw the scene from earlier seems worried, he did notice that Cameron does seem tired, but he couldn't say anything right now because he's not really sure if he really believes in what he saw.

' I want to ask him if he's okay... But it's not like he'll tell me anyway...since he doesn't seem like he's an open person'

And he hears an annoying loud yawn behind him "Kiera, pay attention" is what Mr. Goruu said.

At break time...

Hyusung turns back to check on Cameron "Hey, Cameron... are you still tired...?" he sees Cameron who's leaned on his desk, sleeping. He noticed that Cameron seems pale and a bit red "Hey, Sam!" he calls out Sam's attention waving as a gesture to come over and points to Cameron.

Sam takes off his headphones then goes towards them "Is something wrong?" he crouches on Cameron's desk level.

"I don't really know, but he looks pale and a little red, is he sick?" he keeps his eyes on Cameron.

Sam touches Cameron's forehead and he feels Cameron's temperature, Cameron seems to be burning up "Oh gosh... He's sick" he acts up immediately and slowly but gently picks Cameron with his hand on his back and the other one holding up Cameron's legs.

Hyusung stands up "Wait, is he really?" he looks at them confused.

Sam looks back at him "If I don't come back after break, please tell Miss Garnet to excuse me, I'll take him to the nurse" and with that, he wasted no time and carried Cameron out into the nurse's office.

"OKAY!! WILL DO!!" Hyusung shouted.

As Sam is carrying Cameron in a bridal style, many students and even teachers who are in the hallway were looking at them, but he pays no attention to them.

"Oh my god, what happened?" A student said to the other.

And a student said "I have no idea, but it looks like the new kid is sick"

As they reached the nurse's office, the school nurse welcomed them "What's wrong with him?" She asks gently as she checks Cameron's temperature "Oh he's sick, quickly, place him on the bed" she points at the bed to the right side.

Sam nods as he gently places Cameron on the bed, he also does the job of taking Cameron's shoes off to keep the fabrics clean. He also puts a blanket on Cameron to keep him from getting cold.

"How did he get sick... Do you know?" she asks as she gently places a wet towel on Cameron's forehead which is red from his hot temperature. Cameron twitched a bit.

Sam scratches his head "I don't know, but I think it started during the first period because he looks fine when he enters the classroom" he explains "I did notice that he's sleeping a lot in classes"

The nurse sighs softly "Well, he still needs to rest for the whole school time, but do you know he's parents or guardian's number? So they could pick him up"

He shakes his head "No I don't Miss Myla"

"I see, well our only choice for now is to let him rest here for the whole school day, and you seem to know him so why don't you take him back to his house after school" she looks at Cameron.

"I don't know where he lives..." he smiles awkwardly.

"Just ask his address when he wakes up, just come here and pick him up after school, okay?" she then looks back at Sam.

Sam nods respectfully "I will"

She looks at the time "Oh, you head back to class" she points out the time.

Sam widens his eyes realizing he time but calms down realizing he has Hyusung for back up "don't worry, I have my classmate to get me and Cameron excused, but I really do should be going" he waves her goodbye then leaves the nurse office.
