The Night Walk

Chapter 18

Class is about to start soon in 2 more minutes, and still, somehow, there aren't a lot of their classmates who are inside the classroom yet, there are like over 7 of them, including Cameron, Sam and Kiera who are inside.

And right now, Kiera is still hugging Cameron, and she doesn't seem like she will let go of him anytime soon "Geez, are the others absent or what? Is it a trend now a days?" as she looks around the classroom, there are indeed empty spots.

The only ones in the classroom right now are Kiera, Sam, Cameron and 4 more of their classmates, one of them walked up to them with a concern expression on her face "Hey uhh... class will be starting in 2 minutes... where are the others..." she stops in front of them as she turns her hand into a fist and places it on her chest.

Finally, Kiera lets go off Cameron and Cameron who can now breath properly, he didn't like physical touch and especially when it's force "Me, who knows... maybe they are sick or dead" Kiera jokes.

And this made Cameron and the girl to look at her in disbelief. But the girl just then shrugs it off and looks at Cameron "Hey Cameron, how do you feel now?" she gave him a concern look.

"I'm fine, thanks for asking" he just looks away and he then looks at Sam "Hey, how long has he been sleeping?" he points at the sleeping Sam which then Kiera answered.

"Meh, ever since he came here, I wonder what made him so tired" she sits on her desk and chews on strawberry crackers that's been sitting on her desk.

Cameron walks over to the sleeping Sam and places his knuckle on his forehead "He's not sick or anything... he's just asleep" he then removes his hand away from Sam and then he looks at the girl and Kiera who were just right next to each other.

"Wow, didn't know you'd pay attention to him, when you're always trying to avoid and ignore me in your first day haha" she keeps on crunching on her strawberry crackers.

"Well, whatever, I'm going to my desk..." he just goes over his desk ignoring whatever nonsense he'll hear from his classmates.

'Where on earth is everybody, did something happen for these past few days while I was not at school?'

It's been minutes and class should be starting 5 minutes ago and yet none of those students who are supposed to be here by now isn't here yet.

"Gah! Where are they!" as time went on, Kiera starts to become bored since class hasn't started yet and no juicy gossips to listen from their other classmates.

The others who are present were just talking which were the other 4, while Sam is still asleep on his desk, still with his headphones on. Probably still listening to some music.

Just then, a teacher enters the classroom which they then look at her with a questioning look, she's holding a couple of papers in her arms.

"Oh? Wow, I didn't think that this classroom has the lesser students present right now" the teacher said fixing the papers in her arms while she smiles at them.

"Ah! Miss Ji Ha! It's been a day since I've seen you!" Kiera then walks to miss Ji Ha and takes some papers from her carrying it in her arms "What happen? Why on earth are so many students didn't attend? Wait, is there a class suspension and we are not informed!?"she gave Miss Ji Ha a shock expression as miss Ji Ha just chuckles at her expression.

"There is no class suspension, it's just that, many students happen to have catch a cold or high fever" she looks around the entire classroom and sees that there only 7 of them inside.

"Hah!? This many at once!?" Kiera with a shocker look on her expression almost dropping the papers in her arms, and this also surprises the students inside the classroom, well, except the sleeping Sam.

Miss Ji Ha nods "Yes dear, somehow, but the students who are present will be staying here and just study if it's needed, so feel free to do whatever you want dear children, come on Kiera, let's bring these papers to the office shall we" she then gestures Kiera to follow her.

"Oki doki" and with that. both girls leave the classroom.

"Wow, nothing to do huh, come on guys, let's go to the vending machines to get something" one of the students in the classroom said as the others followed him outside.

'Wow, this is nice, nothing to do and just do what I want huh...' Cameron then hears a groan, which comes from Sam's direction, and there, Sam is already awake as he stretches his arms which creates a laud crack. And this made Cameron made Cameron flinch.

'What's with these two friends and their bone cracking thing!' he remembers how Kiera snaps her neck earlier creating a loud crack just to look at him.

Sam looks around the classroom and sees that no one is inside "Huh?" he looks side to side behind him and spots Cameron who seems to be shuddering just by looking at him "Oh" he takes off his headphones off of his ears "Hey there Cameron, I'm glad that you're here now" he smiles as he waves at him.

Cameron sighs thinking that he'll need to get used to hearing these cracking noises if since he'll be stuck with these people for more months "Thanks I guess" he just looks out the window not bothering to look at Sam again.

He then hears Sam standing up from his chair as the he hears the chair being pushed back, he then walks out the classroom which for Cameron to hear his footsteps slowly disappearing the more Sam walks away from the classroom.

'Hah... now I am alone in here... what's even the point of me coming back to school if there isn't even something to do since many are absent today... and I forgot to thank Sam for the notes last night.... I guess I am being an asshole...' he's in a deep thought as he looks at the scenery outside the window, there are birds passing by, and he could outside of the school fence are cherry blossoms that have a beautiful bloom during this time and some of the flowers are falling down on the ground as small winds are blowing it away. it's a beautiful sight to see, even from afar, some bicycle riders are passing by the area and petals of the cherry blossoms are landing on them but due to the wind, it's just flying away from them.

'Why isn't such beautiful scene doesn't exist to where I live in back then... nonetheless, not many good people unlike here...' he sighs, just then a feels an item being placed on his desk, he looks at it and there's a small banana milk carton on his desk now.

"Huh?" he looks up to see Sam sipping some chocolate milk from a thin straw of a small carton of the chocolate milk "What's this for?"

"Oh, one, I figured I will get you some while I was at the venting machine, and banana is the most popular flavor" Sam being a nice guy he is, he just decides to give some for Cameron.

And Cameron wants to refuse but seeing how Sam is being nice to him, he just hesitantly accepts the banana milk "Well, thanks..." he slowly takes the banana milk and sticks the straw into the area where the drink could be sipped on, he then sips the drink.

'Hmm... not bad guess'

"By the way, do you know where everyone is?" Sam asks as he places his chocolate milk on the desk in front of Cameron's desk.

Cameron just shrugs "Eh, miss Ji Ha said that somehow, everyone who's absent today probably got a cold or high fever" and this information surprises Sam "Although, I think that some are just lying, but who cares, this is peaceful" Cameron leans back on his chair as he continues to stare at the scenery out the window.

Sam just nodded "I guess not having many people in the class right now is nice..." and then takes his chocolate milk again and takes another sip "And where is Kiera?" he knows that Kiera is here because the bags of those who are present in the class are here and he sees Kiera's lavender colored bag under her desk.

"She went with Miss Ji Ha, and why are you talking to me anyway" he looks at Sam and now, because he asked that, Sam seems to be looking for words to say.

'Uhh... what should I say.... You seem pretty lonely.... no, that sounds offensive... because want to?.... No! He's someone wants to mind his business... uhh...'

"Because I want to get to know you" Sam said with a smile as he looks at Cameron.
