NIALL: As you and Niall clean up after dinner one night, you whisper to him, "Is it just me, or does she look pregnant?" "What?" Niall asks, taken aback. "I didn't notice it until she got up from the table after dinner, but her hips and belly look a little rounder than they used to," you explain. "Well, she's been with Cole for over a year now; his eating habits were bound to rub off on her eventually," he jokes. "This isn't funny, Niall. I'm being serious. I really think she might be pregnant." "Well what do you suggest we do?" he inquires, placing the newly-dried dish into the cabinet. "I think we should go talk to them. The sooner, the better. C'mon, they're just in the other room studying; we might as well confront them while we have the chance." With that, you and Niall enter the other room and ask to talk to them. As soon as the words are out of your mouth, she gets choked up and you have your answer. "How did you know?" she asks barely above a whisper. "Wait, so you are? You're pregnant?" Cole asks in shock. He'd denied it from the second he'd realized what you were getting at. "You mean you didn't know?" Niall questions his son. "No! What's going on?" Cole directs towards his girlfriend. She whimpers, trying to hold in tears as she says, "I found out a couple months ago... I wanted to tell you, Cole, but I didn't know how!" she wails. Not knowing what else to do, Cole drapes an arm across her shoulders to comfort her, his face looking more than shocked now. "It looks like we have a lot more to talk about than I thought we did..." you mention, not having expected this to be news to Cole. "I wanna keep it," she says quietly into Cole's chest. "What now?" Cole asks, looking at you and Niall blankly, launching a lengthy conversation about possible plans of action for the next few months to come.

HARRY: "Hello?" Harry answers the phone, only half-aware of it even ringing as he focuses on other things. "Is this Harry Styles?" an angry sounding voice booms through the phone. "Who's calling please?" Harry asks, now fully engaged in the phone conversation. "Your boy Carson has been dating my daughter for the last few months. And do you know what your son has done?" "Uh...no?" Harry replies, confused. "He got my little girl pregnant! Your son is nothing but a pig who takes advantage of innocent girls!" the man shouts, enraged. "Now hold on a second, they are both 17 years old, they've been dating for almost a year, chances are she wasn't pressured to do anything she didn't want to," Harry points out as calmly as he can. "Excuse me? My daughter is not that kind of girl. Your son must have pushed her into doing such things!" the man argues. "Dad, he didn't! He didn't pressure me at all. We were stupid and made a mistake. We're both to balme for this, not just Harry," a young female voice wails in the background. Harry sighs and closes his eyes, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Look, you're clearly upset, and I don't blame you, I'm pretty pissed myself. Give me a chance to talk to Carson, and then maybe we can all get together and figure out where to go from here," Harry reasons with the other angry father. The man agrees to this and they end the call. "Carson!!" Harry shouts, storming up the stairs. "Oh shit..." Carson mutters, knowing who had been on the phone, as his girlfriend had texted him to warn him that she'd told her parents and her dad was ready to kill him. "Yeah 'oh shit'! You better have a death wish because he might not let you live long enough to meet your kid!" "Hiswhat?!" you gasp, now joining the conversation. "That's right...grandmum," Harry confirms sarcastically. "Oh God, Carson," you say on a sigh. "We all need to talk about this," Harry instructs, and the three of you delve into the conversation.

LIAM: "I just have to make a quick stop before we go; I forgot to pick up something," you tell Liam on your way out to dinner to celebrate his birthday. He pulls into the parking lot of the convenience store and you both get out of the car and go into the store. You quickly grab what you need and head for the registers. As you go, you catch a glimpse of your son in another aisle. "What are you doing here?" you ask as you join him. Before he has a chance to answer, you spot what's in his hand. "What is that?" you question, feeling your breath catch in your throat. "Is she...? Tell me this is a joke," you carry on, not wanting to believe the obvious. "We aren't sure," he mutters. "Has she taken a test yet? Or is this the first?" Liam ventures to ask. "She took one this morning, but she asked me to get her another so she can double check," he explains. "Was the first one negative?" you ask hopefully. Your son's face falls further and his gaze stays fixed on the floor as he shakes his head "no." "No, it was positive," he tells you. You close your eyes, digesting the information before informing him, "If it said positive then chances are that she's definitely pregnant." You swallow the lump in your throat as you finish the sentence. Liam places a gentle hand to your back, not knowing what else to do. "Bring her the second test and let her take it if that's what she wants. Then call us and let us know what it says," Liam instructs his son. "Where is she now?" "In the car. She was crying too hard to come in." Liam nods in understanding. "Ok, well go do that - bring her back to our house. Your mum and I will go to dinner as planned to give you some privacy, but I want to know - one way or the other - as soon as you find out. And when we get home, we'll talk about all of this," Liam directs decidedly. Your son nods and you part ways. Nearly half an hour later, Liam's phone chirps with a text from your son. "Positive" is all it says.

LOUIS: Your son had been acting weird for days, dodging you and Louis, and getting very defensive whenever his girlfriend comes up in conversation. "Maybe they broke up," Louis guesses one morning as you two talk about it. "Or they could just be fighting about something," you reason, stirring your tea. "We're not fighting and we didn't break up," your son corrects you, entering the kitchen having heard your conversation. "Then what's going on? This isn't like you," you mention gently. "She's pregnant," he blurts out. You notice Louis nearly choke on his sip of tea. "She told me a few days ago. I don't know what to do," he admits, continuing without waiting for a response. "What does she want to do?" you inquire. "She wants to keep it. And I wanna keep it too. And I wanna be there for her, but I don't know how. I don't know what to do," he repeats, looking lost. "We'll help you, don't worry. Even if her parents aren't supportive, just know that we're here for both of you to help with anything we can," Louis reminds his son. "Thanks, Dad." "Has she told her parents yet?" you wonder. "Not yet. At least not as of last night when I last talked to her," he explains. You nod as Louis says, "Well, I would encourage her to tell them soon. The sooner, the better. And when she does, we can figure out the next step, depending on what her parents want and how involved they want to be." Your son nods. "I think they'll be like you guys - willing to help. Thank you, Mom and Dad. I don't know what I would do without you guys," he tells you both, going in to hug you. "You're welcome," you reply, feeling the knot in your stomach begin to grow as what you've just been told finally starts to sink in.

ZAYN: "Zayn!" you cry out to your husband. You beeline it to the bathroom where he's taking a shower. "Zayn, have you read the card that Lane left for you yet?" you ask, barging into the room. "No, why?" "Read it. Read it now," you demand. Something about your tone keeps Zayn from questioning the urgency. He quickly shuts off the water, wraps a towel around his waist, and exits the bathroom in search of the card. You remain hot on his tail until he retrieves it. He takes it from the envelope and reads it as quickly as he can, his eyes bugging out about halfway through - the same point in which yours bugged out too. "He did WHAT?!" Zayn seethes upon finishing reading. "What are we supposed to do about this?" he questions. "I think you were so concerned about reading what was inside that you didn't notice what was on the front," you point out, prompting him to flip the card over and look. "Clever - putting it in a grandparents' card... I can't believe he got her pregnant..." he says on a sigh. "Lane!" you call out. Within seconds you hear his footsteps approaching you. "Is this some kind of a joke or is this true?" Zayn asks as soon as Lane appears in the doorway. "Well, Uncle Louis said it might lighten the mood to do it with these cards..." "Yeah well Louis can shove it. Is what you said in here true? Is she really pregnant?" Zayn presses. Lane simply nods, fixing his gaze on the floor. "So what do you plan on doing about this?" you inquire, folding your arms across your chest. "Raise it, I guess." "You guess? You mean you will. We have to have a serious talk about this. Zayn, go put some clothes on," you direct, feeling yourself getting worked up in a mix of disappointment, confusion, and a bit of anger.
