“...I don't know anything, Dad. You are talking to Aiden and asking him to behave and that's final.”

Isabel was having breakfast with Foxen the next morning where she was complaining about how Aiden was rude and disrespectful with Christopher in the office the previous day. She didn't get the chance to talk about it with her father — what with being busy with friends and then Christopher — but that didn't mean it had slipped her mind.

“Relax sweetheart. I have already talked to him and he has promised that he'll be polite in the future.” - Foxen assured her with a smile.

“If you say so.” - she replied unconvinced while pouring raspberry sauce over her waffles.

“Good morning, Mr. Wilder.”

Isabel's head whipped in the direction of the voice in surprise. Christopher was standing before them, wearing black, as alway, and a radiant smile on face. Her own face broke into a wide smile.

“Ah, Christopher. Morning! Morning!” - Foxen returned the greeting genially.

Christopher shifted his gaze and met her eyes. “Good morning, Isabel.”

Goshhh.. He and everything he did was hot without even trying! His eyes travelled from her jawline to her neck which she had covered by simply wearing a turtleneck as underneath was a trail of hickeys. One, she had traced the whole night blushing and giggling like a teenager.

She cleared her throat to get her thoughts sorted and replied : “Good morning.”

“Have a seat. Come join us for the breakfast.” - Foxen offered.

Christopher took a seat but refused to eat. “I just had on my way here. When you called to come, I was preparing breakfast only.”

Isabel looked at Foxen in surprise. He had called Christopher ? Why didn't he tell her ?! She could have dressed nicer!

“So, why did you ask for my presence on Sunday ? Is everything okay ?” - Christopher asked.

“Oh yes. Absolutely. Just had a thought to dine together as you are family now. That, and your and Bella's mutual opinion on your wedding card's design.”

Isabel's eyes were as big as saucers. “The sample has come and you didn't tell me ?!”

Foxen chuckled at her while Christopher grinned.

“Well, it was a surprise for you. Just like this is that you both are leaving for shopping after breakfast.” - Foxen said innocently.

Isabel broke into a grin and jumped to her feet, going behind Foxen to wrap her arms around his neck. “You are the best-est!” - she exclaimed, smooching his cheek with a kiss. Foxen laughed.

Christopher leaned back in his chair, his smile slowly disappearing as he observed the two, specially Isabel. She loved Foxen a great deal and was deeply attached to him. Whereas he despised the very guts of the fox natured man and wanted to destroy him every way possible. It was a reminder how different their paths were. How different they were. She was in love with a guy who's aim of life was her father's destruction. They could never be on the same page.

“Now you guys go and check out the card. Afterwards you have to leave for shopping.” - Foxen said, patting Isabel's arm around his neck.

Christopher got to his feet but the sound of footsteps descending stairs made him turn around. It was Aiden. Still in his night suit and looking... woozy ? His eyes were red and steps unbalanced.

“Too much light God...”

Yup. Definitely hungover. Christopher thought, shaking his head. Honestly, Aiden had saved his time by destroying himself on his own. He didn't need to put efforts.
