With a firm grip on the dagger's handle, Aiden stood up as steadily as he could. He took his hand back to stab Christopher in the back with all his energy and force.

Isabel's eyes opened instinctively and widened as she saw over Christopher's shoulder that Aiden was all set to hit him with the dagger.

“CHRIS!” - she screamed. Her hands had automatically fisted into his shirt and dragged him back while herself moving backwards with the speed of light.

Aiden missed the strike. He attempted again but now Christopher was alert. But he didn't need to do anything as police officers barged inside the apartment right that moment and took control of the situation.

Isabel, panicked, turned to Christopher. “Are you okay ? You're not hurt right ?” - her eyes frantically roamed on him from head to toe while her hands haphazardly checked him.

He held her hands and pulled her in a hug. “Shh, shh, shh! Calm down. Take a deep breath.” - his voice was soft and soothing.

She clutched his shirt into fists and started crying again. “I am so f*cking scared to lose you, Chris. I don't want to live without you.”

His heart ached sharply. She was so bare and vulnerable in that moment. Her tone so pure like a child speaking his heart out. He practically hid her in his arms, kissing the top of her head repeatedly to calm her down.

“I am fine, love. Absolutely fine.” - he spoke, his tone laced with love.

They were fine. Everything was fine.

Isabel's six inches high heels made quite a noise on the floor as she marched towards the CEO's cabin with a paper in hands. Any employee in the hallway quickly gave her way by pressing themselves to the wall as they sensed danger in their Managing Director's angry gait.

God have mercy on their boss today.

“Christopher Harold Jenson!” - she boomed walking inside his cabin without a knock.

Christopher, who was busy typing on the laptop, looked up to meet his wife's blazing eyes.

“Your son is getting on my nerves now!”

Try as he might to stop but his lips twitched up in amusement anyway. He leaned back in his chair and took a good look at her.

Adorned up in a slim pencil black dress, her hair styled as half up half down with a few curtain bangs framing her face till cheekbones and those ever luscious lips painted his favourite shade of red, she was a sight for sore eyes. Then her eyes blazing with annoyance and lips pursed in impatience just made her irresistible.

“What did my innocent son do now ?” - he asked calmly, his lips forming a grin at his own words

“What did my innocent son do now ?” - he asked calmly, his lips forming a grin at his own words. Their son and the word 'innocent' just couldn't fit in a single sentence.
