Saturday dawned bright and promising, a perfect day for an outing. Judith woke up to the sound of her phone buzzing beside her. She picked it up to see a text from Zayden.
Zayden: Hey, want to hang out with me and the guys today at the mall?
A smile spread across her face. She quickly typed back.
Judith: Sure! Can I invite Hillary, Jennifer, and Miranda?
He replied almost immediately.
Zayden: Sure. The more, the merrier!
Judith: Where will we meet up?
Zayden: Outside the main building.
Judith: Okay, see you in a few.
Feeling a rush of excitement, Judith sent a group message to her friends. Within minutes, she received enthusiastic confirmations. They all agreed to hang out at the mall.
At the foyer of the girls' dormitory, Judith's friends couldn't contain their excitement.
"Are you ready for some fun?" Hillary asked, bouncing on her heels.
"I can't wait!" Jennifer replied, adjusting her hair.
"Let's hope Zayden is as cute as I remember," Miranda teased, winking at Judith, making the latter blush.
"Zayden and I do not have anything going on!" Judith insisted.
Miranda rolled her eyes. "Yeah, sure."
After leaving the dormitory, Judith and the girls met the guys outside the campus. Zayden leaned against the wall of the main building with his hands in his pockets. "Hey, you ready?" he asked with a smile.
"Absolutely! I can't wait to explore the mall," Judith replied, her energy infectious.
Xavier was driving this time. As they made their way to his car, he and Charles playfully bickered about the games they would play at the arcade. Liam rolled his eyes at their antics but couldn't hide his grin.
Once they arrived at the mall, the atmosphere buzzed with energy. The bright lights and vibrant stores beckoned them. "Where should we go first?" Judith asked, glancing around.
"How about the shoe store?" Liam suggested. "I'm in dire need of new kicks."
"Sounds good! My own shoes are getting faded," Charles chimed in, his voice slightly hesitant as he shot a shy glance at Jennifer standing close to him. He took a small step back, trying to keep a little distance.
As they entered the shoe store, the girls immediately scattered among the racks while the guys lingered by the sneaker section. Judith picked up a stylish pair of boots and held them up for Zayden's approval. "What do you think?"
Zayden nodded. "Those would look good on you. You'd rock them."
Feeling her cheeks heat up, Judith put the boots down and joined the girls. They were trying on various shoes, each one more fabulous than the last. Hillary slipped into a pair of sparkly sandals and posed dramatically. "How do I look?"
"Like you're ready for a party!" Jennifer laughed, tugging on a pair of high heels.
Meanwhile, Charles stood a little apart from Jennifer, fidgeting with his inhaler. He glanced at her occasionally, his cheeks reddening as she animatedly described the perfect outfit she was looking for. Despite his shyness, her energy was hard to resist.
After an hour of trying on shoes, they left the store with a few new purchases. Next, they ventured into a trendy clothing shop where the girls quickly gravitated toward colorful dresses and accessories.
