Vox wasn't sure what he expected when Husk dragged him into the hotel.
He knew the members of the hotel would blame him. He knew they would think he had kidnapped Alastor. He knew that he was a villain in their eyes, even after what happened throughout all these months. Even if he had steered clear of any fights with Alastor. Even after he got invited to the dance. Even after he had saved Alastor's life.
To be completely truthful, part of Vox regretted it. Alastor ruined his life in every way possible. Even Valentino wasn't as bad as he was. After all, Val came back. After every fight, no matter how bad, the moth overlord always came back. But Alastor? He had left. Left him like their 50 year long friendship had meant nothing. And after that? Alastor disappeared.
Vox thought it was his fault at first. He blamed himself, wondering what he did wrong. But he did nothing wrong. All Vox did was ask Alastor if he wanted to join the new Vee's program he had introduced. There was nothing wrong with that.
Then, he thought Alastor died. Grief had overtook him. He wondered what he could have done to save Alastor. He wondered: if the two of them stayed friends, if he was there with him at the time of his disappearance, would Alastor have lived?
Then, 7 years later, he came back. Alastor came back, more joyful than ever with his happy-go-lucky grin. All the grief, regret, guilt and pain that Vox had felt was for nothing.
And when he found the deer writhing in a pool of his own blood, he didn't know why he saved him. After all the pain Alastor had caused, why had he saved him?
He knew the answer. He didn't want to acknowledge it.
"Hey. You." a voice called out to him. Vox turned around, to see Angel Dust leaning against the door frame. "Ya done sulking?"
Vox glared at the spider, returning his attention back to the blood-stained streets of hell.
"Ya know, I always knew you had a crush on Mr Tall and Creepy." Angel said, standing next to the TV demon.
"Excuse me?" Vox said, electricity crackling at the tip of his antenna. "Did you just say-"
"Oh come on man! Don't try to deny it now. I've been inside your room before. For somebody so blue, it's quite shockin' to see the amount of red in it." the spider paused. "And the amount of body pillows..." he added in a whisper. Vox pretended not to hear that. "Anyways. Like I said, ya done sulkin'? We're kinda waiting for you in the lobby."
"Why are you waiting for me?" The TV demon asked.
"We need to discuss the big plan to rescue Alastor, of course! It's all hands on deck. Even Adam offered to give some information! And if Adam's doing it, so should you." Angel sighed once he realised his efforts were not appreciated. "Tell ya what. If you do it, I'll say that you have a bigger dick than the first man himself."
"Ha ha." Normally Vox would have genuinely laughed. This was not a laughing occasion.
Angel scoffed, folding his arms. "Okay look. I'll be honest. I don't like you."
"Charming." Vox muttered.
"When ya first saw me, I was being fucked by 8 hell hounds. It was scary, even for somebody as experienced as me. It had hurt. I begged Valentino to stop, he didn't listen. He said it would make good money." Angel said, his voice strained. "But then you walked into the room. I stared at you, dead in the eye, pleading for you to help. You looked at me in disgust, as if I wanted to do this, then you walked away. Following that day, I had begged you to help a number 19 times. Ya never did. Eventually I stopped."
Vox felt a tingle of guilt crawl up his spine. He averted his gaze, unwilling to look at Angel Dust. The spider continued.
"So imagine my surprise when I learned that somebody as selfish as you, saved your biggest rival. It showed me a different side of you." Angel paused. "Thank you, Vox. Thank you for saving Alastor. I know he probably sees me and the rest of the hotel as pawns to whatever he has planned in his head, but we see him as a friend.
"But...I know he doesn't see you that way. As much as Alastor tries to deny it, he sees you as a friend. And trust me when I say, that he has never looked happier and healthier than he has these past few months. The months, which I now know, he had spent with you."
Vox listened with a heavy heart, his fists unconsciously clenching into a tight ball.
Angel's expression softened. "I believe, that Alastor had a very special reason for leaving. A reason he wasn't allowed to reveal. A reason that broke him in so many ways, but he couldn't escape it no matter how hard he tried. He never wanted to hurt you. He never wanted to leave you."
Vox let out a shaky breath, before turning to look at the spider demon. "Did you know that Alastor was in heaven?"
Angel paused. "And thats our cue to go back to the lobby so Husk can explain what the fuck is going on."

"WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON!?" Vaggie exclaimed, her eyes not able to contain the amount of shock she is experiencing.
"Alastor...is in a contract with mom?" Charlie whispered, her eyes just as wide.
"Sweetie..." Lucifer murmured, his heart breaking at the sight of her daughter. Husk had told Lucifer not too long ago about Alastor's deal, since Charlie had been persistent about 'helping Alastor' and everyone deciding that this had been the best way to 'help Alastor'.
"But we have more news." Husk said. "News that I only found out about today." he glanced at Vox.
"Yeah so uh-...I had learned that Alastor was in heaven for the 7 years he had disappeared." Vox said awkwardly.
"Alastor was in HEAVEN!?" Lucifer repeated. It was his turn to be completely bewildered. "Does that mean-"
"We have reason to believe Lilith is also in heaven." Husk finished.
"Holy ss..." Pentious murmured.
Lucifer seemed to be having a mental breakdown. "But how? How the fuck..." he paused, a tiny realisation hitting him.
"Ya know, Adam seems to be awfully quiet today." Angel commented, glancing at Adam who was nervously brushing his wings.
"Huh? Me? What did I do?"
"Adam, if you don't tell us why the fuck Lilith is in heaven, I will literally send holy magic into every vessel of your body, and trust me, holy magic isn't so holy when you're a demon." Lucifer said, calmly yet darkly.
"Okay! Okay! Don't hurt me..." Adam sighed. "Soooooo I may or may not have made a deal with Lilith granting her permission into heaven." he said awkwardly.
"You WHAT!?"
"Dad! Dad...calm down." Charlie said, reaching forwards and grasping her father's arm. Then she turned to Adam. "How long ago was this? How long does this deal last?"
"Ehhh- it was like 8 years ago. Maybe 9. And the deal cannot be broken unless I die." Adam paused, realisation hitting him. "Speaking of which, does this death count?" he asked, referring to his death by Niffty.
A lightbulb must have popped in Husk's head, as he jolted upright from his slouching position, alert and panicked. "Adam died, which means Lilith can no longer stay in heaven, which means she's down here, in hell. She's back."
Lucifer seemed to understand. "And if she's back...she must have been the one who took Alastor. Especially considering their deal. But that doesn't explain why she took him."
Vox scoffed, a sudden understanding written over his digital expression. "I knew Alastor wouldn't come to this tacky hotel of his own free will..." he muttered.
"What are you saying?" Charlie asked.
"Isn't it obvious? Alastor never came to this hotel to help. He came here to destroy it. To make sure it doesn't work. To make sure Adam doesn't die so that his master, Lilith, can stay in heaven. And now that Adam is dead, I'm sure Alastor would have some explaining to do."
