When you're enjoying the journey, time flies by, and that's exactly what they felt. They were so caught up in their trip from Jeju to Seoul that suddenly they were at Gimpo Airport.
Sang Hee mentioned how the ratings for The Lucky Fans always skyrocket with each episode. That's why so many reporters and fans were eagerly waiting for their return from Jeju.
Of course, this became a fashion show for Kayla and the others—not including Rhea. The five of them had been busy mixing and matching outfits since dawn. Hana declared their theme for the day was Be an Idol for a Day, and they totally nailed it.
"Please keep your distance." The guards did their best to create space between them and the fans and reporters clamoring for photos.
Rhea had been looking down the whole time, feeling uneasy with the flashing cameras and the chaotic atmosphere, unlike the other five lucky fans who seemed chill. They even received gifts from their fans! Yep, each of them had their own fans, especially Kayla, who had the most fans among them. She even had her own fan club called Kaylife.
Rhea glanced at Jun Ho in front of her. He was always responding to fans, signing autographs randomly, and accepting gifts with a smile. It's no wonder people said he was the politest superstar around; his respect for others was evident.
Suddenly, there was a loud thud.
A reporter stumbled, accidentally pushed by one of their guards. Rhea, standing nearby, stepped out of line to help the reporter up. "Gwaenchanayo?" she asked.
"Ne." The reporter quickly gathered his scattered belongings. "I'm fine, really." He politely declined Rhea's offer, even as she helped pick up his things.
But Rhea wasn't the type to turn a blind eye when someone needed help. She collected all his items, making sure nothing was left behind. "Just be careful next time, okay?"
The reporter bowed in thanks multiple times, and Rhea returned the gesture before rejoining the others. There was still work ahead of them.
"Ugh, I'm so tired!" Hana flopped onto the couch as soon as they got to the apartment. The others followed suit, with Kyung Mi even sprawled out on the carpeted floor.
"Eonni, what you did back there was amazing!" Jennifer gave Rhea two thumbs up as she lay down next to Kyung Mi.
"Didn't Jun Ho Oppa seem a bit off?" Hana turned onto her stomach, glancing at her sisters on the floor. "He just came over to help Rhea Eonni out of nowhere. Isn't that strange?"
"Not at all. Maybe he just wanted to help," Kyung Mi mumbled, eyes still closed.
"Of course it's strange! Jun Ho Oppa is the only one from 2PM who waited for Rhea Eonni. He was walking with Nichkhun Oppa before!"
"Eonni, what's going on between you and Jun Ho Oppa? We're curious," Elisa chimed in, aligning with Hana. They both had their suspicions about Rhea and Jun Ho's growing closeness and the secrets they seemed to be sharing.
Rhea stayed silent, her lips sealed despite hearing everything. Her eyes fluttered closed for a moment, soaking in the quiet as she recharged. She was grateful for this moment; no need to address Elisa and Hana's suspicions.
"It's not just Jun Ho Oppa. Si Won Oppa wanted to help too, but he was stuck near the exit, so he could only glance over a few times," Kayla said.
She shook her head at the two youngest. They were clearly seen as family by Super Junior and 2PM, even by the staff of The Lucky Fans. Why couldn't they just think everything was fine? If there were a romance between the lucky fans and the idols, wasn't that fate?
Kayla didn't hope to be Si Won's girlfriend or anything; she just wanted to think logically. No one really knew what God had in store to unite two people in love. They'd spent a month together, going out as a group, like Elisa shopping for shoes with Woo Young or Rhea getting close to Hee Chul. Nobody understood how destiny brought soulmates together.
-ooo-
Early in the morning, they all arrived at a photoshoot location. Thanks to the popularity of The Lucky Fans, collaboration requests had skyrocketed. One of them was from Ruby, a favorite clothing brand for K-Pop stars, launching their autumn collection. They had plenty of outfits to showcase, with the lucky fans, Super Junior, and 2PM modeling together. Not all members of 2PM and Super Junior were present—just a select few.
Hana and Woo Young were up first. "Aegi Couple!" shouted one of the staff. It was true; their baby-faced looks earned them that nickname.
With the couple theme, Woo Young and Hana struck classic poses typical of Korean pairs. "This looks more like a photobooth than a photoshoot," Hee Chul quipped, making Woo Young burst into laughter.
Sang Hee monitored the shoot with several staff members. Woo Young and Hana's photos radiated a fresh vibe, like teens just starting to date. They loved the results, especially a moment when Woo Young wrapped an arm around Hana, striking a surprised pose without looking at the camera.
"Ow, it's so bright!" Hee Chul chimed in again, this time as Dong Hae, Kayla, Nichkhun, and Jennifer posed for the shoot.
"Oppa, sikkeureo!" Rhea nudged Hee Chul's arm, urging him to quiet down since Jun Ho was dozing off in his chair. He had mentioned earlier that he'd be attending an event before heading to the shoot.
"Don't Dong Hae and Kayla look great together?" Hee Chul whispered, eyes glued to the pair as Dong Hae wrapped his arms around Kayla's waist, while she smiled sweetly, her arms around his neck. "Should we set them up?"
"You really love matchmaking, don't you?" Rhea chuckled. Not long ago, Hee Chul had contacted her about setting her up with a friend.
After a late-night video call, she discovered that his friend was an actor she recognized from dramas she'd watched. Soon after, Hee Chul tried to match Jennifer with another friend too. Why was she the one getting close to Hee Chul among so many Super Junior members?
"Jun Ho-ssi, Rhea-ssi, it's your turn!" the photographer called out.
"Ne." Rhea tossed aside the blanket covering her legs and handed it to Hee Chul before heading to the photoshoot set.
As she walked, Rhea wondered what pose she should strike with Jun Ho. This was their first time as partners since officially becoming a couple, and so far, no one knew about their relationship. They both enjoyed keeping things private.
Jun Ho noticed a hint of confusion in Rhea's eyes as she contemplated their pose. But what really took her by surprise was when he pulled her into an embrace, enveloping her in his coat. It reminded her of a scene from his drama, Just Between Lovers.
"Look at the camera."
At his words, Rhea instinctively turned to face him, while he smiled at the camera, their chemistry undeniable.
