"Saengil chukka hamnida. Saranghaneun uri Kyung Mi, saengil chukka hamnida." Kyung Mi blew out the candle on the cheesecake after making a wish. Lucky fans celebrated her birthday in a cozy little café decked out in pastel purple and green.
September 30th marked another year for Kyung Mi, but it also meant their time to enjoy moments with Super Junior and 2PM was running out. They had less than two weeks left to wrap up the show.
"It's crazy how fast time flies. It feels like we just started, and now we've only got two episodes left of The Lucky Fans," Elisa said, shifting the mood around them. Time was slipping away, and soon they'd all be heading back to their own lives.
"Come on, let's not be sad! It's Kyung Mi Eonni's birthday!" Hana chimed in, offering her small plate and urging Kyung Mi to slice into the tempting cheesecake.
Kyung Mi sliced the cheesecake, serving generous pieces on each plate as they enjoyed the rest of the celebration, chatting about fun things. Her three-year-old niece, Lee Jin Ah, had come along with her mom. With her big, round doll-like eyes and chubby cheeks that looked like buns, anyone who saw her couldn't help but want to pinch those adorable cheeks.
"With less than two weeks left, and we still have schedules to tackle," Jennifer piped up.
"What do you mean?" Kyung Mi asked.
Jennifer chewed her cheesecake thoughtfully before responding, "Sang Hee Eonni said we have one more schedule to wrap up. But this one is seriously going to drain us."
"Mwoga?" Kyung Mi poured mineral water into each glass. The café was buzzing with customers, so she only had mineral water available since she hadn't restocked her ingredients yet.
Jennifer explained that they were set to shoot a commercial for Lotte Duty Free and would be performing a song for it as well. Jun.K and Woo Young would be writing the track for the ad.
"Are you Sang Hee Eonni's stalker or something?" Kayla squinted at Jennifer.
"Stalker? Please! I'm just close with Sang Hee Eonni. We went shopping and had dinner together just yesterday."
"I've got some big news too."
According to what Elisa heard from Jun.K, they were set to film the last episode of The Lucky Fans in Japan, coinciding with the 15th Anniversary Concert for 2PM. Elisa still didn't have a clear picture of what the final episode would be like, but one thing was certain: they'd be filming while enjoying the concert.
Rhea checked her phone, noticing that Jun Ho still hadn't replied to the message she sent that morning. Not surprising—he was probably busy preparing for the concert with the other members. She knew the risks of dating a public figure, so she understood how hectic his schedule could be.
"Eonni, what's your wish for this year?" Hana asked, having finished her slice of cheesecake.
Kyung Mi cut another piece and placed it on Hana's plate. "Right now, I just hope my wedding goes smoothly. And I really want you all to be my bridesmaids." Kyung Mi smiled, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
For some reason, Kyung Mi's response hit them right in the feels. Being a bridesmaid meant a close bond between the bride and her girls. When they first met at the airport, they were all focused on themselves. Who would've thought that such a seemingly selfish encounter would lead to this beautiful connection among the six of them?
"Of course! We'll be your bridesmaids," Rhea said, shifting closer and wrapping her arms around Kyung Mi, tears unexpectedly spilling down her cheeks.
"Eonni, wae ureo?" Elisa asked, hugging Rhea, whose tears only seemed to flow more freely.
