Chapter 12

As I'm walking down the halls, I see Kakashi sitting in the waiting area. His looking out the window. As I am looking at him I notice how young he is. He is really small. From what I remember in the manga no one was really there to help him cope after his. dad committed the act. 

I still don't understand why he did myself. Sakumo had told me that we were going to have dinner when I got back from my mission. He looked okay after we talked. So what went wrong? What happened while I was away. 

I need to investigate because nothing is adding up. Before I left Sakumo did not look like he was in that state of mind, so something else must of happen. 

I need to go to the Hatake Compound to investigate. 

As I am thinking about my next step I notice Kakashi looking at me. 

Am I that hurt, that I did not notice and Academy student staring at me.

UGHH I need some sleep.

"Yo," I say to chibi  kakashi. 

He stares at me, and glances away. 

"Everythings good. Let's head back to the apartment," he looks at me and nods.

I really have to make him talk more. 

Haru pleas look over us, we're gonna need it.

We arrived at the apartment, and I make my way to the kitchen. 

"I will  be making dinner, what do you feel like eating kakashi?"

Kakashi looks at me curiously. " I eat anything," he replies. 

Hmm let's see from what I remember sakumo was once talking to me about kakashi. When he was telling me about the surprise dinner he was doing for his son. Now what was the food he mentions. 

I got it! It was EGGPLANT MISO-SOUP !!

I look at him and nod.

Once dinner was made, I call Kakashi over to the kitchen. 

The look of surprise said it all. He looked at me confusedly. 

"How did you know," he says quietly. 

I look at him and my eyes soften. "He mentioned it to me once when we were talking. He was telling about the surprise dinner he was doing for his son," I tell him honestly. 

Apprehension starts making its way to his face. And I could read the hurt all over him. I turn away from him and think back to my past life, and try to think of something that I could use from there to comfort him, but there was nothing. There was nothing that could comfort him from this pain. There won't be nothing for awhile. I could only try to soothe the pain, time would heal it the best it can. But it won't be for a long time.

"Why, I still don't understand why he did it, Why did he leave me alone," he whispers brokenly.

As I look at him, I can't help but think about my pain as well. Why did Haru have to leave me. Why do people I love keep leaving me. What did I do so wrong in both lives?! 

I look away from him, and I look towards the window and see that it's already dark outside. I breath in and out and try to get myself together before I respond. 

The only thing that I could tell him is the truth of what I felt about what happened to his father. I do NOT believe that Sakumo killed himself . I know he didn't. He loved kakashi too much to leave him alone in this messed up world by himself. 

The only thing that I could think of that is responsible for his death is Danzo. He was responsible for a lot of deaths in the manga. But I have to find evidence to prove it. I know that I can't mess up the timeline too much, but I need to gather all the evidence. Put there's evidence all over the nations. Which means I would have to go away from the village for while. 

I would have to wait until the war is over to start gathering evidence against that man, and I would need other people I trust to help me. 

There's a lot I could tell him, but Kakashi is not mature enough yet. I don't want to burden him even more, so I'll just give him hints for now.

"From what I've learned kakashi things aren't always what they seem.," I change the subject before he could try to question me further. 

"Anyways kakashi , I have a mission tomorrow so I won't be coming back. Feel free to stay as long as you want. Before I leave I'll leave you a key on the table, so don't forget to take it when you leave to the Academy," I tell him.

He looks at me with a shock face. "Why are you helping so much?"

I look at him and smile, " Your senpai's kid."
