My Best Friend (Dustin story)

It has been a year from when all what happened last year. I have not told Dustin how I feel I was going to tell him tomorrow when he gets home from camp. I meet someone over the summer Remi Buckley she is the best. I invited Max and El but they are with their boyfriends. Me and Remi are in my room, and she is talking about Oliver Harrington. I think she likes him but trying to deny it "And he is over here sitting with this girl..." She started "Oh my gosh!" I said "What?" She asked "Your falling for him" I said "I am not" she said "oh you so are" I said jumping up and down. We looked at each other and we started laughing. I heard someone knocked on my door "Come in" I said, "Hey girls, Remi your sister is here" my mom said "Ah ok thank you Mrs. byers for having me over" Remi said "of course" Mom said "By Rem" I said as she walked out the door. 

I looked at the clock we have about an hour till the movie. I was reading when "Cass let's go" Will yelled "Coming" I yelled back. This summer the boys grew like a lot it is crazy. "Bye mom" I yelled as me and Will walked out the door. Mom lets us ride our bikes now. We made it to the mall "Hey guys" Max greeted "hey" I said back "No mike?" Will asked "Nope" Lucas said. We all sighed and waited for mike. 

I saw mike coming "thats him" I said pointing to him " Your late" Lucas said as mike got off of his bike "sorry" Mike said "Again" I said "We are going to miss the opening" Will said "Not if you guys keep whining about it. Lets go" mike said Lucas started mocking him "Just stop talking dude" Mike said "Let me guess were to busy-" Lucas said and he was making kissing face. "real mature Lucas" Mike said "Oh El I wish we would make out and not hang out with our friends" Lucas said "Lucas stop" Max said as me and will laughed "Will and Cass think it is funny" Lucas said "Because it is" Me and will say at the same time. "Yeah it is so funny that I want to spend romantic time with my Girlfriend" Mike said "I am spending romantic time with my girlfriend" Lucas said "Guys shut up" I said "Your just mad that your boyfriend is not here" Lucas said and Max hit him "He's not my boyfriend" I said walking in front of them. We were walking through crowds of people. Then we were running, and mike ran into a girl "Watch it" The girl said "Yeah watch it nerd" Erica Lucas's little sister. They started yelling at each other "Hi rob" I said "Hi. Hey dingus your Children are here" Robin yelled to Steve "Hi mom" I said waving "Really again?" He asked. We ran in the back "If anyone hears about this-" Steve stared "Were dead we know" We yelled at them. "Ok all clear" Mike said as we walked to the movie. 

"See Lucas, we made it" I said siting down "We missed the previews" Lucas said "Still made it fartface" Max said. We were watching the movie when the power went off we all started yelling I looked over at will "Will are you ok?" I asked "Yeah I'm fine" told me I just nodded I knew he was lying but I didn't say anything. Then to power came back on. 

Will and I got home I had a shower. I went to my room after the shower someone knocked on my door "Come in" I yelled and will walk in and sat on my bed "What's up?" I asked as I brushed my hair "so... you existed for tomorrow?" he asked "yep" I said "you going to tell Dustin how you feel?" he asked "Yep" I said "Well night Cass" he said as he hugged me and kissed the top of my head. "Night will" I said as he left my room closing my door. I fell asleep.

I woke up and got ready to go surprise Dustin coming home from camp. "WILL TIME TO GO" I yelled "Coming clam down" Will said coming out of his room "Let's go" I said as we walked out of the door. We all meet at Dustin's we waited till he got in his room then El made his toys move "This is all a dream" I heard Dustin say. We all stepped out "SURPRISE" We yelled Dustin screamed and sprayed his hair stuff in Lucas's eyes "Dust put it down" I said as I walked up to him. He looked at me for a moment before we hugged "How was camp?" I asked "Good" He said as we pulled from the hug. 
Now we were in Dustin's room and he was showing us his stuff from camp "Now this I would like you to meet Cerebro" Dustin said as we looked at whatever it is "What exactly are we looking at here?" Mike asked "An unassembled one-of-a-kind battery-powered radio tower." Dustin explained "So, it's a ham radio" Will said "The Cadillac of ham radios. This baby carries a crystal-clear connection, I'm talking north pole to south" He told us

"I can talk to my girlfriend whenever and wherever I choose" he said "GIRLFRIEND?" Will, mike and El asked. I was in shock I felt tears in my eyes but I held it in and put on a fake smile. I got up and got one of the bags as Mike, El and Dustin left the room "Are you ok?" Will asked "Yep just great, peachy" I said with a fake smile I knew will saw right through it he was about to say something "Cass, Will yall coming?" Dustin asked yelling "Yep coming" I said as we walked to where the others were. 

We got to this big hill great we have to walk up it. Half way up the hill "Guys this was fun but we have to go" Mike said "Curfew" Mike said "Good luck" El said as they ran down the hill "It has been like this all summer" I said "it's gross" Will said "It's romantic" Max said "It's bull, I just got home" Dustin said "Well onward and upward Suzie awaits" Dustin said I sighed and kept walking. The boys were in front of me and Max "You sure you are ok?" She asked "I'm fine" I said she gave me her look "I swear Max" I said as we kept walking. 

We made it to the top, "Made it" Dustin said "Yeah, only took five hours" I said putting down the bag. "Why couldn't we just play D&D?" Will asked "I'm so thirsty" Lucas said as he drank all of our water "Did you just drink all of our water?" Max asked as he spit some out back in the bottle. "ew" I said. 

We started to build the radio, we got down with it "Now ready to meet my love?" Dustin asked "Yeah" Max said "Hey, dust I just remembered that mom asked me to help at the store. But tomorrow I can meet you at the mall and you can see Steve and Oliver" I said " Yeah ok I guess" he said as I ran down the hill. I got on my bike and rode to mom's work. I just could not be there right now.

I got into town and made it to were mom worked. I got off my bike and ran in "Mom" I called for her with my voice breaking "Cass?"  "Mom" I cried as I ran to hug her "Cass what's wrong?" she asked "He got a girlfriend" Is all I had to say and mom knew who I was talking about. "Oh Sweetie" mom said as she hugged me tighter. "I should have told him last year" I told her as we pulled away from the hug and sat down "Cass sweetie you couldn't have known" she told me "I know, But I fell for him. I fell for him hard mom" I told her as she pulled me into her side. "How about we have some ice cream and we can talk then I can drop you off at Remi's. How does that sound?" She asked "I like that" I said 

Mom got the ice cream, and we started talking and she told me that she can't tell hopper how she fell's she does not want to ruin their friendship. "Then get this I told him that I would meet him at the mall tomorrow." I told mom "how I'm I going to face him?" I asked "Just still be there for him you know?" She asked "Yeah" I said "let's go drop you off at Remi's" Mom said as she locked up the store "Ok" 

We got in the car and drove to Remi's "Thank you" I told her "Thank you for being there for me" I said "Of course Hun" She said. We got Remi's house and I said bye to mom. 

I knock on the door and robin opened the door "Hi child" "Hi rob" I said "Rem is in her room" she said as I walked in the house.  "Thanks" I said as I walked to Remi's room "Hi Remi" I said "Hey Cass" she said as I sat on her bed "So.. how did it go with Dustin?" She asked as she sat next to me "He got a girlfriend" I told her sadly "Oh come here" She said as she pulled me in her arms. "Thanks" I said. We pulled out of the hug and we talked and got ice cream and eat it till we crashed out.
