My Best Friend (Dustin story)

Prologue (January 1982)

I was in my big brother's room with my twin brother will who is two minutes older than me, me and will are 11 years old. Jonathan is playing "Should I stay, or Should I go" "Do y'all like this?" he asked "Yeah I do" will said. I was to zoned out, I could hear my parents arguing "Cassie you, ok?" I hear will ask, " I'm fine, just tired of them arguing all the time" I told them. "Hey, it's going to all work out, ok? and plus, you have me and wil-" but he got cut off by my dad "Cassandra lets go now" he yelled "No! I don't want to" I told him "I Don't care" he yelled again, then mom came in "No Lonnie, you're not taking her" she told him "I am end of story" dad said "Go pack your things now" told me. I got up and ran to my room, I grabbed my walkie-talkie "Does anyone copy it's Cassie over?" I asked hoping someone would answer. "Yep, I copy, you and will still coming over?" he asked, "No guys sorry, my dad is making me go with him" I said with tears, all the guys started yelling "no" and "you can go" This just broke my heart, I can't even give my friends proper goodbyes. "I will miss you guys so much and y'all's idiot faces" I told them. Will walked in on the verge of crying " I don't want you to go" he cried as he ran to hug me " It will be ok" I said in tears "No, it won't be the same without you" he said " I will be back I promise" I said "Cassandra let's go" dad yelled "coming". I let go of the hug from will. "Lonnie please Don't do this, you can't separate will and Cass you can't" she Begged "I don't care, Cassandra lets go" he said. I ran to hug mom "I will be ok I will back" I said in tears, "I know sweetheart" I let go of mom and ran to hug Jonathan "Bye big brother" I said, "bye I am going to miss you" he said "All right let's go" dad said... we got in the car, and we left.

~*Five months later*~

It has been Five months since I left Hawkins with my dad. I miss my mom, my brothers and my friend especially Dustin. " Cassandra come here now" my dad called "coming " I walked out and saw someone in a lab coat "What's going on" I asked "Cassandra this is Doctor Brenner, He is going to take you to some lab, I don't really care" He said " You can't just give me away" I yelled that's when I felt something in my arm then everything went black...

~ one month later~

Joyce Byers Pov

Today it's been 6 months since Lonnie took Cass. I am on the phone with Lonnie to ask to say Hi to my little girl "What do you mean she not with you??" I asked "YOU GAVE HER TO A RANDOM DOCTOR FOR MONEY?? YOUR UNBELIEVABLE LONNIE" I yelled and slammed the phone back on the wall I was so mad "Mom what's wrong with Cassie?" I heard will ask, I turned to look at him" Will Hun I am not sure, but I am sure she ok" I reassured him. "Ok, I am going over to mike's is that ok?" he asked, "sure Hun go have fun love you" I told him "Love you too mom" he said as he walks out the door. I did not want to get him in all of the mess I just can't.

Will's Pov

I got to mike's not fully believing what mom said about Cass. I knocked on the door and his mom opened the door "Hi Mrs. Wheeler" I greeted "hello will come on in, the boys are downstairs" she said "thanks" I replied. I walked downstairs to Dustin chasing Lucas with something and mike just looks completely done with them, Cass would have just laughed at this. Man, I miss her when she left It felt like a lost my other half of myself. "Will" mike Yelled " Hi" I tried to say it happy but of course the guys caught on. "what's wrong?" Dustin asked, "It's Cassie" but I was cut off "Is she ok?" Dustin asked, "Let him Finish" Lucas said hitting his shoulder "My mom called Cass to see how she was doing, and she was yelling at my dad about Cass" I told them and of course Dustin started Pacing and kept saying "oh my god" over and over. "Dude Shut up" Lucas yelled "I can't help it, I am worried about Cassie" Dustin said, "We get that you are worried about your girlfriend but shut up man" Lucas said "She not my girlfriend" Dustin said. Yep, Dustin likes MY TWIN he just does not want to admit to it.

Joyce's Pov

After will left I immediately called hopper "hello?" Hopper it's Joyce, Lonnie basically sold Cass" I said "What? are you sure?" hop asked "Yes hop he said to some Doctor Brenner guy" "ah shit, we have to go get her he's bad, but the FBI has not been able to pin him" he said "ok came get me bye". I hung up and called Karen "Hey its Joyce can will sleep over??" I asked "Yes of course" she said "thanks bye" "bye" I hung up. There was a Knocked, "Are you ready?" he asked "Yep let's go get my girl back". We got to the lab and walked in. "how can I help you?" she asked, "We need to see Doctor Brenner" hopper said sternly "I apologize Doctor Brenner is not avail-" but hopper cut her off " I don't care he can get his ass in here now" he said starting to get angrier. "I will go get him" she said "thanks" we both said. I turned to hopper "How Could let this happen hop? "I cried "you couldn't have known Joyce" he told me "But I am her mother I am supposed to protect her" I said with tears in my eyes. Hopper sighed and pulled me into a hug, I Buried my face into his chest and let the tears fall. "It's not your Falt ok you can't blame yourself" he told me. "Can I help y'all?" we head someone ask we pulled away from the hug. "I want my daughter back" I snapped "I am sorry I don't kno-" hopper cut him off "Give her the kid back or I can call the FBI and they can stop what ever illegal shit you have going here" hopper snaped "What is her name?" "Cassandea byers" I quickly replied. he walked off.

Cass's Pov

I sat in the room I was in, I met a girl her name is Eleven. I saw papa come in "Come on your mother is here" he said I got up and ran I saw my mom and hopper? "Mom" I yelled I ran into her arms. I was out I was free. "I missed you mom" I missed you too" I let go of mom and gave hopper a hug "Thank you for getting me out" I said "sure kid no Problem just glad to have your back". He said I let go "Can we go home?" "Yes" we got to the car. We drove to Mike's. "Is will here?" I asked "yes" I ran into the house not even bothering to knock. "WILL, DUSTIN,MIKE LUCAS" I yelled as I ran down the stairs. "CASS" will yelled and we ran into a hug. I let go of will and ran to Dustin and hugged him. "Cassie" he said "hi" I whispered "Hi" he said back. Man, i missed him and his hugs and is smile. "umm what about us" mike and Lucas said at the same time. i ran over and hugged them. I was back I was home, my life can go back to the way it was.
