We stayed as late as we possibly could, not even talking the entire time, we didn't need to. Just laying in a comfortable silence with our eyes to the sky and our limbs intertwined. It wasn't until Julien started getting the smallest bit sleepy that we decided it was time to pack it up. Giggling and reminiscing hand in hand on our way back to the car.

"If you would've told me at the start of this year I'd be traipsing through the woods with you in the middle of the night I probably would've punched you in the face." I laughed, cheeks burning with heat as she pulled me in to place a kiss on the top of my head.

"I probably wouldn't have punched you, but I would've laughed." Julien snickered just before lighting up her car and making her way towards the passenger side. "My lady?" She teased as she pulled my door open, my nose crinkling up in disgust however at the choice of words.

"Ew."

"Too incel-y? Noted." She chuckled, closing my door after I had slid into the seat still with the blanket wrapped around my shoulders. Eyes naturally scanning the parking lot around us to see if anyone else had decided to stay out here with us this late. Only to find one singular car still remaining.

"Gosh, some night owls followed us out here." I tried to brush off with an airy laugh just as Julien slid behind the wheel. Just in time for a cold chill to wash over me almost violently, my limbs shaking even while encased in the blanket.

"Let me get the heat on for you, darling." She remarked, plugging her keys into the ignition and giving it a turn. The car roared to life for a moment before going silent, almost as if it was tricking us. False start. "What the hell?" She cursed, giving it another twist only to be met by the same disappointment causing her to scoff and shake her head. "Hang on, baby, can you grab the flashlight in my glove box? I wanna take a look under the hood."

"Sure." I spoke with a shy nod, a hint of uneasiness washing over me, something I ultimately tried to hide as we climbed out of the vehicle. The cold night air made me shiver, squeezing the blanket tighter around my shoulders as I flicked the flashlight on.

"I know it's cold, baby, I'm sorry." The soft pet name spread a comforting warmth in my stomach as I watched her shrug off the flannel and pass it over towards me leaving her clad in only a t-shirt.

"I don't want you to get cold either." I voiced with widened eyes, though the scent of her clinging to the fabric was already wafting into my nose and settling the chills.

"You need it more than me, just take it." She shook her head, only bringing a sigh of defeat from my lungs.

Nevertheless though I pulled the oversized flannel onto my arms anyways, and I almost hated how selfish I felt bundled up in long sleeves and the blanket both. The comfort was short lived though, because the moment she opened the hood of the car and I shone the flashlight amongst the complicated set up she was cursing underneath her breath. "What the hell? My fucking motor arm's missing."
