"Alright team!" The Doctor immediately wrinkled his nose at the word. "Oh, I hate people who say "team". Um... "gang". Um... "comrades"!"
"Animal Farm?" Estelle joked. She, Rose and Mickey were standing in front of the Doctor, who was leading the way into the school. It was night-time, now, making the school ten-times creepier than it already was.
"Met Orwell himself, once," The Doctor reminisced, before shaking his head and continuing with his instructions. "Rose and Estelle, go to the kitchen and get a sample of that oil. Mickey, the new staff are all Maths teachers, go and check out the Maths department. I'm gonna look in Finch's office. Be back here in ten minutes."
With that, the Doctor ran up the stairs and left the three in the dust. The three humans shared a look of exasperation before Rose and Estelle instructed Mickey towards the Maths department and they made their way carefully to the kitchens to find the oil.
...
When Estelle and Rose had finally gotten an extract of the oil safely, the sound of a scream pierced the air. Although the two female companions had been a little awkward since Estelle had received her TARDIS key, they didn't let that stop them from getting the job done.
As they ran down a hallway to locate the injured person, Estelle found herself running straight into a man's chest. "Ah! Sorry." Estelle said, embarrassed. Her cheeks flushed further when she realised it was the Doctor she had run into.
"Who's she?" Rose asked sceptically, glaring at Sarah Jane, who appeared next to the Doctor.
"Oh! Rose, this is Sarah Jane," the Doctor introduced. "Sarah Jane, this is Rose. And that's Estelle, you met her earlier." Estelle smiled at the journalist, who replied with a kind smile before turning to look at Rose.
"Hi Nice to meet you," Sarah Jane said with a faker smile than the one she sent Estelle. The journalist then turned to the Doctor. "You can tell you're getting older. Your assistants are getting younger."
"I'm not his assistant!" Rose argued angrily, causing the Doctor to wince uncomfortably. Estelle watched on from beside him, slightly amused at the interaction, but still confused over why Sarah Jane was being resentful towards Rose.
"No? I get you, tiger," Sarah Jane replied after an awkward pause.
As Sarah and Rose stared each other down, the Doctor sped off towards the scream and the three girls finally followed him to find Mickey surrounded by little packets of... grey looking things. With a quiet gasp, Estelle realised that they were vacuum-packed rats.
"Oh, my God, they're rats!" Rose exclaimed.
"Really?" Sarah Jane asked sarcastically. "We didn't notice."
"Sorry! That scream was me..." Mickey said sheepishly, "I opened the drawer and dozens of 'em fell out on top of me."
"And you decided to scream," The Doctor deadpanned.
"It took me by surprise!" Mickey exclaimed defensively, stepping out of the rat pile with a shiver.
"Like a little girl?" The Doctor continued with a smirk, "nine, maybe ten years old. I'm seeing pigtails, frilly skirt..."
"Hello, can we focus? Does anyone notice anything strange about this? Rats in school?" Rose asked, kicking one of the rat packets so that it rolled across the floor.
