And Minji kept her word.As much as it hurt. Minji knew that it was what she needed to do. She should've done that since the beginning.
Watching Hanni try to talk to her and ignoring her had to be the worst thing she has to do. She hated it. And she'd cry herself to sleep just wanting to talk to Hanni again. But it's for both their sakes.
But if she only knew how Hanni truly feels.
"Minji." A knock. A knock that didn't take her out of her misery. "You need to eat." Haerin. It wasn't who she wanted to listen to right now. They were dorm-mates and she's had to kick Hanni out multiple times just because Minji clearly isn't okay.
Even though it was clear that she needed Hanni more than anything.
"Hanni was here. How much longer are you going to ignore her?" Haerin said. Completely exhausted with a full week of Hanni begging and crying to her to let her see Minji. Haerin wasn't even sure of what either or wanted anymore.
Haerin wanted to belive that Hanni was looking for Minji because she realized that she still loved her. But it can't be that, can it?
Minji hugged her pillow even tighter than before at the mention of Hanni. "Minji, go to her." Minji shook her head as if Haerin could see her. "Minji, stop all of this will you? Hanni is suffering too. I know she hurt you and your feelings. But give Hanni a break, you know her and the way she is." Minji only listened.
"She's scared, didn't she tell you that? You're her ex. And sometimes second shots don't work. And that's fine. But I know you still love her, Minji. Don't you deny it to me anymore." Minji shook her head again.
"I don't want to." Minji whispered completely defeated. "But I can't admit it." Haerin heard it but she won't say anything about it. "Minji, you did all of this for what? Hm? You run away from her when you want to go to her. Minji, just stop. You're tearing yourself apart."
Minji sat up on her bed completely frustrated. Haerin was right. This isn't what she wanted but there's nothing she could do now. She has a promise to keep now. And no matter how much she's dying to have Hanni smack her arm, elbow her, and just show her physical love. She just can't.
She wants Hanni in a way that she can't have her.
And Minji has come to the realization that Haerin was right. She did still love Hanni. But Hanni doesn't love her, she's left it clear. And that's what probably helped Minji stay away from Hanni.
But that was far beyond the point.
"Hanni." Danielle tried to calm Hanni down as she was having another panic attack. "I just—I want Minji." Hanni was taking deep breaths repeatedly as her hands were shaking aggressively. And Danielle was scared for dear life.
The third time this week.
She's been scolding Haerin for not convincing Minji to talk to Hanni. But of course, Danielle knew it wasn't Haerin's fault. Minji was now being the stubborn one, thinking that she was doing the right thing.
Danielle stood up and went to Hanni's closet. And without much second thought pulled out one of Minji's hoodies that Hanni has kept hidden. From her and everyone else
She stormed back to where Hanni was and placed the hoodie before Hanni. "Put it on." And Hanni's eyes went wide but still snatched the hoodie and put it on. And it seemed to calm Hanni down.
Danielle sat next to her on her bed until Hanni had fallen asleep. Danielle has had enough. If Minji nor Hanni do something, she will. And with that. She tucked Hanni in her bed and kissed her forehead because Hanni looked like a little baby.
Hugging herself as she clearly tried to get a single sniff of Minji's fading scent.
And Danielle is just tired of seeing them suffer so much and all because they both just decide to be little stubborn children and not want to admit that they are dying to be with each other again.
Minji obviously loves Hanni more than her own life. And Hanni as much as she tries to hide it. She does too. And that's enough to have Danielle storm to Minji.
Danielle stepped out of the dorm, calling Haerin and telling her that she better let her see Minji or she'd be the one in big trouble. And of course, Haerin is scared of her little sunshine.
She knocked on Haerin and Minji's shared dorm. Haerin opened the door and greeted her with a kiss. "She's locked up in her room and hasn't stepped out. I couldn't even get her out." Danielle shushed Haerin.
"I will break that door down. Hanni is suffering so much, and I know that she messed up but she doesn't deserve it." Danielle made her way to Minji's room, practically stomping as she aggressively knocked on the door once she was in front of it.
"Go away!" Minji shouted. "If you don't open this door and come out, I will break it down and personally drag you out of there if I must. Open this fucking door Minji!" Haerin stood there with her jaw to the ground. She does good in never angering Danielle.
Minji who heard this shot up from her bed and headed to the door. Fumbling as she opened the door. Once it was open she was met with an angry Danielle. "Put your shoes on, and go to my dorm." Danielle said but Minji shook her head.
"Danielle, I don't want to see Hanni." Minji lied through her teeth and Danielle gave her a stern look. "I know Hanni can be a little stupid sometimes but you have to try and understand her, Minji. She's confusing and you know that well. But don't hurt her this way." Danielle said and Minji let out a sigh.
"I know she hurt you too, Minji. She broke your heart and that's maybe what keeps you away from her. But breaking each other's heart can't become a habit." Danielle said and Minji looked down at her feet.
"Stop lying to yourself, Minji. Put those damn shoes on and go to her. This is her third panic attack this week and you're no where near her to calm her." At hearing this Minji shot her eyes up to look at Danielle.
"Bring back her peace, Minji. Please. Do this for yourself too. Fix things between you and Hanni." And with that, Danielle grabbed Minji's arm and dragged her to the door where her shoes were. "Now go over there and hold her until the suffering ends." And with that Minji was shoved out of the dorm with the door being locked behind her.
Without her shoes.
Minji still tried to process what had happened. But her main thought was Hanni. She didn't expect for Hanni to be..hurting that much. And she feels like a complete jerk. So she ran to Hanni's dorm.
She opened the door, and was met with Hanni making her way out of her room. With Minji's hoodie on her still. "Danielle, I think I'm going to need you to get me some pain relievers." Hanni said thinking it was Danielle at the door. Minji could clearly see Hanni's suffering all over her face.
And that truly hurt.
"Hanni."
Said girl froze on her spot as she looked up to see Minji closing the door to her dorm. "Minji?" Hanni's voice broke and Minji ran to her. Bringing her into a bone crushing hug. "I'm sorry."
Hanni took a couple of seconds but immediately started to break down as she wrapped her arms around Minji's neck and sobbed. Pulling Minji as close as possible. Was this real? Was it a dream?
Minji lifted Hanni up and walked them both back into Hanni's room.
And she was going to make things right.
