Leo, Penelope, Tobey, and I decided to go back to school shopping at Walmart before Brad's party. We were going a few days beforehand, so it wasn't last minute. Penelope and I had thought about getting a new outfit for the party, even if neither of us felt comfortable with the idea of going in the first place. When we stepped into the store the first thing we saw were the cardboard setups that held sheets of paper with lists of needed school supplies for your school, along with a few of the most common items beyond that.

"I can't believe how many notebooks and folders are required this year," I pointed out as we looked over our sheets of paper.

"Yeah, I don't know about your school, but my teachers didn't even end up using everything that we were meant to get. It was annoying how our money was wasted like that," Penelope shared, rolling her eyes in the process.

"I think I ran into the same problem too. I just ended up using the extra folders for something else."

"Me too. Are you getting any arts supplies this year?"

"Probably not. I think they supply all of it in high school, unlike grade school where you were meant to bring your own Crayons and everything."

"Oh yeah, I almost miss those art supply boxes. Mine was bright pink and I put cloud, rainbow, and sun stickers all over it," she giggled.

"Mine was yellow, but I never put anything on it. I like to save my stickers, because I don't want to ruin them or have them be all used up," I slightly laughed.

"I can understand that. We definitely need number 2 pencils, don't we."

"Yeah, those always come in handy, but I've never understood the difference between number 1 and 2 pencils."

"Me either, but we have to get what they say, because obviously there is a difference," she emphasized in annoyance, which almost made me laugh.

"Lucky for me, the standard, cheaper ones already come in my favorite color, yellow." I giggled as I picked up one of the decent sized packs.

"Oh yeah, that's true. I think I'm going to get the multicolored pack. I have such a hard time deciding between purple and pink pencils." She laughed a little bit as we moved on to the notebooks, the boys breezing through the process unlike us.

"You girls almost done yet," Leo wondered as they rejoined us.

"We still have like half the things on this list to get," I observed.

"Is it okay if Tobey and I look at the electronics? We wanted to check out the video games."

"Yeah, we might drift off to a different section of the store too. You want to meet up at a certain time?"

"Alright, what about an hour by the first register?"

"Yeah, that sounds good," I warmly smiled, blushing when he leaned down to kiss my lips for a moment. I tucked my hair behind my ear as he rushed off with his best friend.

"You two are so cute together," Penelope nearly sing songed, nudging my arm as I blushed.

"Thanks, you and Tobey are too." I looked at the floor before we got down to business and finished up securing our school supplies. We then ended up in the makeup section, Penelope trying to find the right shade of lipgloss. She wanted something that stood out, but was subtle at the same time, becoming obsessed with the icy pink they had.

"So... We should probably look at clothes for the party after this, or I guess just back to school in general," I added.

"Yeah...," she trailed off after dropping the lipgloss into her carrying basket.
