The Land of Narnia ~ Aslan's Camp ~ Dusk

Eventually, I found Susan and Lucy. Sammy was with them. Susan was wearing a medieval green dress, and Lucy was wearing a light blue one. They had flowers and leaves in their braided hair, and they were sitting down by the water, waiting for me.

"Hi!" I said cheerfully.

Susan and Lucy turned toward my voice, and smiled.

"Hello, Ally!" Lucy said, waving.

Susan suddenly got up, and went into a tent that was set up by the creek. She came out holding a dress, and held it out to me.

"Oh! It's for me?" I asked, completely oblivious.

"No, it's for Sammy. Yes it's for you!" Susan said sarcastically.

Lucy and I laughed, and I grabbed the dress. "All right. I'll go get changed." I said, as I walked to the tent.

"We'll do your hair for you after!!" Lucy shouted after me.

"Okay!" I said, as I closed the tent.

I slipped the dress on, and took my hair out of its loose braid. I saw some black sandals similar to Susan's, and put them on. I left my clothes from London on the bench.

As I walked out, I saw Sammy getting a petting session with Susan and Lucy. Sammy loves cuddles and pets.

"What do you think?" I asked as I twirled around.

"Beautiful! You look like one of those petal girls." Lucy said.

"They're called Dryads, Lu." I corrected.

"Oh! Yeah, sorry." She said.

"You also look like a princess." Susan said.

"Yeah, a princess would be nice." I said smiling.

"What about me?" Sammy asked.

"Don't worry." Lucy replied. "You're the handsome dog protector."

Sammy smiled, rubbing the grass against his fur.

"Can we do your hair now, please, Al?" Lucy asked me.

"Fine, okay. But make sure it looks good." I said mockingly.

"Oh, and that's for when Edmund gets back?" Susan asked.

My cheeks felt hot; I was blushing. "Uh...no. Where would you get an idea like that?"

"Oh, nowhere." Lucy said, smiling at her sister knowingly.

After a couple minutes, they finished my hair, which had purple flowers in it.

"Thank you," I said.

"You're welcome." Susan and Lucy said.

We just sat there for a while, talking about little things here and there, while petting Sammy. London was one of the things we were talking about.

We stood up, Sammy still lying down, and Lucy said to Susan.

"You look like Mum."

"Mum hasn't had a dress like this since before the war." Susan replied.

"We should bring her one back!" Lucy said cheerfully. "A whole trunk full!"

Susan was staring at the little creek. "If we ever get back." She said sadly.

My heart skipped a beat. I saw Lucy's smile fall. Did Susan want to go back home? Susan turned to look at Lucy and sighed.

"I'm sorry I'm like that." Susan said apologetically.
