The Land of Narnia ~ Aslan's Camp ~ Morning

The next morning, I woke up in my bed, with Sammy laying next to me. Surprisingly, my hair was still in good shape so I left it how it was. My dress was fine, so I kept it on. Lucy was still sleeping, but Susan was awake, checking on her bow and arrows.

I saw my bow and arrows by my bed, and noted they were fine. I still hadn't taken the necklace off since Father Christmas gave it to me. Other than when I showed Aslan it.

I decided to take a walk, and saw Peter up too. I walked towards him, and Sammy had followed me.

"Hey, Pete." I greeted.

"Hi, Al." He said grimly.

"Do you think they rescued Edmund?" I asked.

"I don't know." Peter said. "I think I might go talk to Aslan."

"He isn't here." I said.

"Really?" Peter said, surprised.

"Yeah. I would think he would be out walking, checking on everyone. But he isn't."

Suddenly, Oreius came walking by. He gestured toward a mountain by us. Peter and I followed his gaze, and saw Edmund and Aslan talking. I couldn't make out what they were saying. Oreius walked away. We stared for a couple seconds before I spoke to Peter.

"See?" I whispered to Peter. "I knew it."

Peter smiled at me, and butted me with his shoulder playfully. I smiled back.

Just then, Susan walked out of our tent, Lucy right behind her. They followed our gazes too and saw Edmund. Smiles overtook their faces. Lucy gasped happily.

"Edmund!" She shouted cheerfully. She ran toward him, but Peter stopped her.

Edmund and Aslan turned to look at us. Peter let go of Lucy, and he looked at Edmund. Edmund looked at Aslan, asking to go, and Aslan nodded.

Aslan stood up, and they both walked down, Edmund leading the way. As they came closer, I noticed Edmund's head down, not meeting anyone's gazes. He felt guilty and we all knew that. He never wanted to do anything like that again.

When they stood in front of us, Aslan started to speak.

"What's done is done. There's no need to speak to Edmund about what is past." He explained.

Aslan walked away, and left us standing there. Edmund looked at Susan and Lucy, then me, and last made the longest eye contact with Peter. I think he was trying to say 'I'm sorry' without words.

"Hello." He muttered shyly.

Susan and Lucy were smiling. Lucy walked over and gave him a hug. Edmund smiled and hugged back. It was a moment that needed no words.

Susan put her hand on his shoulder, and they embraced. After they let go, he knelt down to Sammy's height.

"It's good to see your scowling face again." Sammy said sarcastically.

"Sammy!" I scolded. He just chuckled, and Edmund hugged him, and smiled too.

"Thank you for showing yourself when I felt like I would never see you guys again." Edmund said to Sammy.

"Ah, no problem." Sammy replied.

Edmund stood in front of me, and he embraced me first. He squeezed me lightly; I knew he had missed me. I missed him too. I just kept it to myself. This close proximity to him made me blush a little, but being the way I was, I didn't push it.
