Chapter 5: The Abyss of Betrayal

The Hyperion raced toward its destination—the Abyss of Grief, a place steeped in darkness and the last known location of Bronya and Mei, who had been taken by Cocolia's forces. Inside the ship, Kiana stood at the viewport, fists clenched tightly, her expression hard but filled with worry. Beside her, Lyka leaned on her staff, still recovering from the strain of her last battle, but refusing to sit this one out.

Kiana hadn't spoken much since the rescue mission began. Her heart was heavy with the weight of what they were about to face. Lyka could feel the tension, and after a moment of silence, she spoke softly.

Lyka Ashwind (gently):
"We'll get them back, Kiana. Together."

Kiana's eyes softened slightly, but the worry didn't leave her face. She glanced at Lyka, her voice low.

Kiana Kaslana (serious):
"You need to remember what you promised me... no more using that spell, Lyka. I can't lose you too."

Lyka's chest tightened at Kiana's words. She had agreed not to use the "Infinite Layered Magic Circle" again, knowing how much it had worried Kiana, but the burden of her own limitations still weighed on her. Even so, she nodded.

Lyka Ashwind (with a soft smile):
"I won't. I'll do what I can... without breaking myself."

Kiana's gaze lingered on her for a moment longer, then she nodded in return, her resolve hardening. They were close now. The Abyss of Grief loomed ahead, a vast, desolate structure built into the remains of a broken city. Dark energy radiated from its core, and inside, Cocolia's twisted plan was already in motion.

As the Hyperion touched down, the air was thick with oppressive energy. They stepped out onto the cracked ground, and Lyka could feel the pull of something ancient, something deeply connected to the power of the Herrschers. The Abyss was a place of death and despair, and Kiana could sense it too.

Kiana Kaslana (gritting her teeth):
"This place... it feels wrong."

Ahead, they saw the entrance to the facility, and standing guard were the remnants of Cocolia's forces—armed soldiers and mechs, all ready to defend their leader's final stand.

Lyka Ashwind (with determination):
"They won't stop us."

Kiana nodded, her pistols already drawn. Together, they charged into the fray.

Fight Scene: Assault on the Abyss

Kiana darted forward, her movements swift and precise. She fired off a volley of bullets, her twin pistols lighting up the battlefield as she weaved between the mechs, each shot hitting its mark. The soldiers struggled to keep up, but Kiana's sheer speed overwhelmed them.

Kiana Kaslana (shouting over the chaos):
"Come on! Is this all you've got?!"

Lyka, still not fully recovered, stayed behind Kiana, her staff raised as she summoned controlled bursts of elemental magic. A wave of fire erupted from the ground, cutting through the line of soldiers, while bolts of lightning crashed down on the enemy mechs, disabling their systems. Though her spells were more limited than before, each one was precise and deadly.

Lyka Ashwind (focused, to herself):
I'll conserve my strength. I need to be ready for what's coming.

Kiana leapt into the air, delivering a spinning kick that knocked a group of soldiers off their feet, before landing with a graceful roll. She glanced back at Lyka, ensuring her friend was still holding up.
