Wrath. An emotion like home leapt through his body in soaring and crashing waves.

Kim Jiyeon.

The words on the name tag pinned to her shirt read, revealing her name to him.

Just at the thought of her, he could feel astronomical irritability and displeasure fill every inch of him like a forest fire that spread, silent yet swift and deadly.

Donghyuck held his hand out with his palm exposed, and an orb of blazing fire emerged into existence. The flames sizzled with great intensity, drawing energy from within him as rage surged through the roof.

Within a second, he hastily teleported to the world he belonged to and in front of him stood the enormous mansion—the murky shades of deep red and black surrounded him, juxtaposing the merry atmosphere prevalent on Earth with life.

He was welcomed with the warmth of an inferno; hot air swarmed dense and low, and his tensed back muscles relaxed instinctively in the familiar embrace of hell.

Donghyuck strode in as his ears picked onto the well-acquainted voices not so far away, and their mere presence began to elicit exasperation.

"No, hey! I won!" Rulin exclaimed unfairly at Jeno, who had won the arm wrestling match.

Jeno shook his head, "You cheated- you literally used both hands, c'mon." He playfully teased with an innocent smile plastered on his face.

"Lin, just accept defeat." Renjun chimed in languidly.

The sound of the double doors swinging open made them quickly turn their heads in anticipation of Donghyuck, except Jeno, who fell relatively silent as a pang of guilt consumed him at the question he wished he had not asked earlier.

"Hello there- oh." Rulin pursed her lips, quickly reading his vexed stature.

"Out." Donghyuck demanded gruffly without sparing them a look, not in the mood for their stupid banter.

"Damn. Who hurt you-" Renjun was cut off when he realised that Donghyuck raised his fist of literal fire and launched the relatively giant sphere in their direction without a second thought.

Renjun protectively put an arm in front of his sister, steering away from the orange-and-blue blaze, and Jeno raised his hand, allowing his reflexes to quickly put the fire out—almost burning his hand while doing so.

"Lee Donghyuck!" Renjun instantly sprung with anger, "I'll rip your fucking wings off!"

"You will rip whose wings off again?"

The deep voice questioned, and all heads raised to the figure slowly walking down the stairs with a glass of fresh human blood, swirling the liquid.

And in came Lucifer. The fallen angel. The ruler of the underworld.

Rulin immediately hid behind her brother, intimidated even to meet eyes with their ruler, and Jeno mumbled a quick 'let's go', not wanting to invite trouble by getting on Satan's wrong side.

Renjun glared at Donghyuck, seething at his heedless actions that could have potentially harmed any of them before the three teleported, disappearing from their vicinity.

Donghyuck harshly pulled his black shirt that was tucked into his pants, fingers swiftly tugging at the clothing to unbutton them till the very end as he collapsed onto the sofa situated in the heart of the lavish halls that showcased their hierarchical position.

The hot gust of wind twirled him, gracing his melanin skin like feathers stroking him whilst the silver chain around his neck felt cold as it rested on him. His muscles pulled taunt when he reflected on the interaction at the bus station.

"Fuck." He groaned out, closing his eyes as his index and middle fingers rubbed his temples, swept by utter disbelief to know that a mere human was capable of pushing his buttons.

The leather sofa beside him dipped, accompanying him, and he did not have to open his eyes to recognise that his father sat by his side.

"What's got you all moody today?" The older man asked, sipping the viscous, red liquid while making an unpleasant slurping sound that made Donghyuck furrow his brows, genuinely disgusted by it.

"I got a question." Donghyuck flung his eyes open, at last tilting his head to meet his father's eyes, which resembled precisely his.

"Are you aware of that girl who can see our true form with her bare eyes?" He asked, half-curious and half-annoyed.

Satan laughed with a rumble to his chest as he placed the emptied glass down, "There is no one capable of that." He boasted in triumph.

"But there is," Donghyuck clarified as he sat upright, "This girl named Kim Jiyeon. She could see me—"

Donghyuck was cut off abruptly when he was grabbed by his collar, forcing him to look into his father's eyes that glimmered red, and the atmosphere grew sombre, thunder rumbling as Satan's anger roared.

"Did you meet her, Haechan?" He urgently enquired, examining his son's eyes for answers.

Haechan.

The name he was associated with triggered memories that he had buried deep down, and all morale drained his body. His narrowed gaze morphed soulless, and his voice dropped low.

"Don't call me that." Donghyuck's stoic tone cut the warm air like a sword that wielded in between them—if there was anyone who dared to look into Satan's eyes and boldly challenge him, it was Lee Donghyuck.

"Fucking answer me, son!" His father screamed, yanking his shirt that crinkled in his palms, and another bolt of thunder loomed over them, reminding the entire world who owned the upper hand.

Donghyuck decided to take a step back, though, against his will.

He regained his composure and nodded to the question, "Yes, I met her."

"What is her name?!" Satan shouted impatiently.

"Kim Jiyeon." The name rolled off his tongue naturally.

And for the first time in Donghyuck's life, he saw fear flicker in his father's eyes for a split second. It took him by great surprise to wrap his head around the fact that a mere human could inflict a hint of fright in Satan's eyes.

"Find out more about her." He ordered, restlessly tapping his shoes against the floor.

The palm that seized his collar loosened as Satan moved away, eyes roaming hastily as he blinked to collect his thoughts before he looked at his son, coming to a determined solution.

"And then what?" Donghyuck questioned blatantly while ripping the shirt off his torso and dumping it on the floor.

"Kill her."
