I walk in to the store to amie standing with her arms crossed.
"He likes you" she says scowling.
"No he doesnt" i say dismissively.
"Dont lie to yourself Julie"
"Im not, he told me he doesnt" i giggle in order to take the harshness of the statement away.
"Well I saw him kiss you, he definitely doesn't not like you" she says arms still crossed.
"Just drop it" i say. She ruined my euphoria, through the emotions i forgot about how harsh he was earlier.
"Im just looking out for you" she smiles sweetly. "Christian should be here soon, maybe you could leave early and get your thoughts together" then she turns around and walks to the back.
She's always tried hooking me up with Christian, he just isn't what I'm into. I see him more as an older brother, that knows everything about me. Its always been like this.
Except that one drunken night, that we have vowed to never speak of again.
_____"Hey babe" Christian says as he walks in, he comes in for a hug and I graciously accept.
"Hey" I respond, excited that I'm going to see Matty soon.
"I havent seen you since friday night, sorry i left you" he says putting his book bag down on the table in the back.
"Oh, I wouldnt have been much fun anyway" i giggle. "Amie is letting me off early"
"Oh? I was hoping youd be here a while, i cant handle this crowd alone" he smiles.
Theres no one here, its 4:30, but weekdays are always a lull.
"Very funny" i smirk, then pull out my phone to text Matty.
"Hey, come get me at work in 15 minutes? -J"
His response comes quickly.
"I can be there in 20? If thats alright -M"
"Yeah thats just fine, later -J"
"Later -M"
I lift my head from my phone and Christian is staring at me.
"Take a picture, it would last longer" i remark. "Amie! Im leaving in 20 minutes, if thats okay" i yell toward the back.
She replies with a mmhm.
"Why were you smiling so much Babe, something you need to tell me?" He smirks at me.
"No reason" I straighten my face and start organizing the rack of clothing. I find a beautiful black velvet dress and pull it off, admire it, and head to the dressing room.
"Theres definitely a reason, you rarely smile" he answers snidely.
"Not true, i am a very very happy girl" i yell from the dressing room.
"Seems so"
Then the door of the shop rings as i pull the dress on over my head. It looks pretty good on me, im going to buy it.
"Hello welcome to LA thrift, let me know if you need anything" Christian says dryly to the customer from the clothing rack.
I walk out of the dressing room and do a spin and Christian oos, and so does the customer. We both quickly turn to see matty leaning against the counter, smirking casually with his sunglasses on top of his head.
He has on a button up shirt, with only the bottom 2 buttoned, black skinny jeans, black boots, and his leather jacket in his hand. He looks, well hot.
"Hello love" he smiles and i walk towards him. He glances over to Christian, then wraps his arm around my neck, his hand on my waist and kisses me, deeply, but quickly.
I pull away, embarrassed since now we have an audience.
"Hi" i say out of breath.
"I like this dress" he said rubbing it lightly.
Its a quarter length sleeve, and shows my shoulders. Its a form fitting top, with a more relaxed bottom. Im wearing it with my black vans. I admit i feel very pretty in it.
"Thanks, i was just about to buy it" i smile.
"Dont worry love, ive got it" he smirks, and reaches into his jacket, presumably for his wallet.
"No, i dont need you to" i scowl.
"But i want to, as an apology for earlier" he says softly.
"Fine" i kiss his cheek and walk to the other side of the register, and ring it up. "Let me just say goodbye to Amie, and Christian" i say, excitedly.
"Alright, ill be here"
I walk to the back where Christian has retreated to, and him and Amie are sitting, going through new stuff.
"Im leaving now" i say.
"I knew there was a reason for your foolish smiling, hes no good for you babe" he says walking over to me. Then hugs me sweetly.
"He's right" amie nods and continues sorting.
"Wow, what a support group. Love you guys too" i say firmly, turn on my heel and walk to matty.
"Lets go" i say hurriedly while he sorts through some old records.
I grab his hand and pull him out the door.
"You alright?" He asks as i turn left, toward my apartment.
"They're just judgemental ass holes" i say.
"I have my car, its parked around the corner. We have to make a run to wherever you buy underwear" he chuckles a bit, making me feel better.
"You dont have to replace them you know" i giggle back.
"Break it, you buy it" he smiles pulling me into his side. Then turns to his car.
"Until its my heart of course" i mumble, hoping he wouldn't hear.
"Never" he says under his breath.
