I got into my moms car and she said, "How was you're first day!"
I groaned.
"Did you make any new friends?" I looked up. "Actually, yeah. Her name is Alice." I said smiling.
"Well good. do you want a burger or something?" She said with a smile. "Uh, no, that's okay." I said looking down.
She looked at me with disappointment. "Fluorescent, you have to eat! It's like you haven't in a whole week! Are you okay?"

It's not like I don't want to eat. I love food, whenever I actually am hungry.
Every once in a while I will not eat anything because I don't want it.
It's really weird.

"I'm just not hungry!" I snap at her.
"If it's because you think your fat, that's ridicu-" I interrupted, "No! It's not because of that! I-I'm just not hungry. "
"Okay." My mom said keeping her eyes on the road.

As we pulled up to our house I unbuckled the seat belt. I got out of the car and opened the enormous doors to the enormous house. My dad walked to me and gave me a hug.
His blonde hair blocking my vision. I lightly hugged him back as he asked, " How was your day, Grace?"

Anger filled my eyes. " MY NAME ISNT GRACE! ITS FLUORESCENT! F-L-U-O-R-E-S-C-E-N-T!" I screamed.
" Your name is Grace! That is the name your mom and I gave you when we adopted you from that Crack-Head!" My dad yelled.
"YOU ARE NOT MY PARENTS!" I screamed.

He slapped me.

"What kind of mother names their daughter Fluorescent?" He said.
I felt the pain from the slap pour into my cheek.

" My mother..." I said with tears in my eyes.
I got out of his tight grip and ran up the marble stairs to my room. I sat on my bed and cried. Holding me cheek.
My face didn't feel nearly as bad as his words did. I locked my door and pulled a small Blade out from under my pillow. I stare at it for a while then slowly press down on my pale skin.
*ring*

*ring*

*ring*

I quickly put my blade under my pillow. I reached into my backpack and grabbed my phone.
It was an Unknown Number.
F- " Uh... hello?"
A- " Hey! Is this Fluorescent? It's Alice, from school."
F- " Oh, hey Alice! And yeah, this is Fluorescent. What's up? "
A- " Well I just wanted to call and say hi... HI! Oh and you dropped your Science Book in the hallway, and we have homework for Science, so yeah. "
F- " Shit! Um... Just meet me at the Gas Station on South Blvd in like 10 minutes?"
A- " Yeah, okay, see you then. "
*End of Call. *
I put Alice in my Contacts and then grabbed my bag. I quickly went down the stairs and was about to go out the door when
My sister, Lily, was standing in front of me. Her golden shoulder length hair was curled and she had one hand on her hip.
" Where do you think you're going?" She said blowing a bubble with pink gum in her mouth.
" I'm going to see a friend." I said trying to move around her. " You?! Friends!? Don't Bullshit me!  Now where are you going?!" She yelled.
" I'm meeting this girl named Alice, I dropped my science book in the halls and I need it."
She looked at me with narrowed eyes.
" I don't buy it. You have to stay here anyway and do the dishes, dad is pissed at you. " she said.
I sighed and went back to my room.

I texted Alice and told her that my parents and sister were being Ass Hats so I couldn't get my books.
"I'll just give you the answers tomorrow. " she said from behind the phone.
"OMG really!? Your a life saver Alice!" I yelled into my phone.

I went to my bathroom and locked the door. I took a long shower.
I brushed my teeth and took my makeup off. I took off my pants and slept in a shirt and my underwear. I plopped onto the bed and immediately fell asleep.
