I woke up to the sound of Ms. B banging on my door and opening it.

"Fluorescent! Get up for breakfast!" She said and walked away.
"Uuuuugggghhhh" I groaned as I got up.

I closed my door and put new clothes on.
I had an "Attila" tank top on, and black skinny jeans with black converse.
My hair wasn't cooperating, so I just let it loose.

I walked outside and followed random hallways until I crashed into Amber.

"Oh sorry!" I said looking at the floor.

"It's fine, Fluor, are you lost?" She said with a giggle.

"Yeah..." I mumbled.

"Okay, just follow me." She said grabbing my hand.

She quickly pulled me through the hallways of the building. We soon found the door with the sign that said "Cafeteria". We hopped in line, behind some blonde haired twins.
As we approached the food, the smell of bacon and pancakes filled my nose.
I grabbed a plate and put some bacon, pancakes, and eggs on it.

I followed Amber to the table that we normally sat at. Allie was the only person there.

"Heyyyyyy!" She said as we approached her.
"What's up girl?!" Amber said, while sitting down.
"Nothing much, JJ and I were gonna go to the mall at like 11:00. You guys wanna come?" Allie said with a smile.

"Yeah sure, what about you Fluor?" Amber said looking at me.

"Oh... Sure." I say while taking a bite of bacon.

"Cool, I'll see you guys there." She said walking away.

She got up and threw her stuff away then went to her room.
"I-I don't have any money for the mall." I say looking down.

"Oh, the people at the front desk give us money for clothes and crap like that." Amber said with a smile.

She held my hand, and we walked back to our rooms to get ready. We twisted and turned through the hallways until we reached our rooms.

"Come to my room when you finish getting ready." She said.

I nodded and opened my door.
I like the outfit I have on, so I'll just do my makeup. I did my foundation, eye shadow, eye liner, mascara, and very subtle lip stick.
I combed my hair again, getting lost tangles out. I looked at myself in the mirror, and for once in a long time, I liked what I saw.

I walked out of my room and knocked on Ambers. The door was cracked a little so I just went it.

The ceiling was lined with bright green lights, and the walls were covered in posters and drawings. Some of the artwork was portraits of band members. Her bed was in the left corner, and had white covers and pillows. She had a very big full sized mirror against a wall, lined with more lights. I sat down on the bed and waited.
I heard her moving around in her closet, lightly humming.
She walked out wearing white ripped skinny jeans, and a black tank top that read, "Sleep Is For The Weak!" She smiled and we walked out.

Once we reached the front desk, Ms. B saw us and asked where we were going.

"To the Mall, can we have like $20?" Amber said with a cute head tilt.

"Ugh fine. Try not to spend all of it! I hear that those bands you like are touring in San Diego soon."

Amber smiled and took the money.
We walked outside, and a wave of heat hit me.
"Holy frick it's hot outside!" I said, trying to tie my hair up.
"Yeah, you'll get used to it." She said, then grabbed my hand.

This became a normal thing. Since I've been here for almost a week, Ambers been my only good friend.
I didn't mind us holding hands, I guess it made her happy, so I'm happy.
I dont know what it is about Amber, it's like I have an urge to see her all the time. She just... Makes me happy.
We soon arrived at the Mall and saw Allie and JJ sitting on a bench by the door.

"Hey guys, did you get any money from Ms. B?" JJ said.

"Yeah $20" Amber said pulling the money out.

"Ha! We beat you! She gave us $35!" Allie said while laughing.

"Goddamnit! You guys always win!" Amber said in disappointment.

We walked inside and cool air surrounded me.

I let out a sigh of relief.

"Feels good don't it?" JJ said with a wink.

"Oh shut up JJ!" I said lightly punching his arm.

"YOU FEELING ME NOW MR. KRABS!?!?!?" Amber screamed.

Everyone started laughing, and people gave us dirty looks, but we didn't care.
This was the most amazing time in my life, so far, and I was loving it.

We soon found a Hot Topic and we all poured in.
Amber and I split the money 10 and 10.
I was looking at the bracelets, until Allie came up behind me with a Minecraft Steve head on.
She started doing a weird dance around me which made me laugh.

I found a beanie that said, "Love Wins<3" I absolutely LOVED it so I checked the Price tag, $6.99.
Yes! I went to the cash register and paid for it.
I walked over to Amber and danced all around her, showing off my hat.
"Oh my god! I love it!" She said, while admiring it.

Before I knew it, she snatched it off of my head and ran away.
I ran after her, she saw me coming and ran faster. She turned sharply inside of a Macy's store. I continued to chase her through the store. She dove into an old lady's shopping cart while it was moving. I giggled and kept following the cart until she jumped out, and ran into a changing room.

"Amber! Give it back!" I said from behind the changing room door, that she locked.

"NEVER!" She yelled.

"What do I have to do to get it back?!" I said, trying to look for a way in.

"Ummmmm..." She went on.

"You have to kiss me."

I stood there, still comprehending what she had just said.

"Fine." I said.

She unlocked the door and revealed herself. She was heavily blushing, and looking at her feet.

Without thinking, I stepped forward and crashed my lips into hers.

She tensed up at first, then relaxed.
Her lips were so soft. Our lips fit so perfectly together. She moved a little closer and I placed my hands on her upper waist. She slowing moved one hand up and placed it on my cheek. I flinched and broke the kiss.
"I-I'm sorry." She said stepping backwards a little.

"No, it's fine, I just have a bruise on my cheek." I said scratching the back of my head.

"...Well here's your hat." She said, while handing me the beanie.

"Thanks." I say with a smile.

We walked out of Macy's and found Allie and JJ, not speaking of what just happened. We started to walk out of the mall and back to the adoption center. The walk was very awkward and quiet. We finally reached the building and went in.
"I guess I'll see you later." I say to Amber.

"Yeah, okay." She said with that cute little smile.

As I walked to my room, I felt Amber peck me on the cheek then go into her room.

I smiled then opened the door to my room. I stepped forward a little then flopped down onto my bed. My eyes became heavy.
But before I fell asleep, I mumbled,

"I am in love with Amber Blackwell."
