My eyes slowly opened as the smell of bacon and eggs filled my nose.
I sat up and sighed of happiness.
"Today's the day." I said to myself as I got up.
The party was just 8 hours away.
I walked over to the bathroom, I combed my hair, brushed my teeth, and put my usual makeup on. I headed downstairs and the smell became stronger.
I really really wanted to eat but I couldn't.
I ignored the magnificent smell and grabbed my backpack. As I was about to walk out the door I noticed something all ripped up and burned on the floor.
It took me a second to realize what it was.
My heart broke.
Tears immediately ran down my face.
My mouth dropped in disbelief.
"No..." I muttered.
My mother's sweater that she gave me right before child support took me away lay on the floor.
I fell to my knees and picked up the burned and ripped sweater.
Behind all the ashes, I see one part that wasn't destroyed.
A small tag that read,

No matter how far away I am,
You still have all of my heart.
Love, Mommy.

I lifted the destroyed sweater up and hugged it while sobbing.
"No, no, no! Why!?" I sobbed.
I ran up to Lily's room and burst through the door.
She was busy making out with some fuckboy.
"What the hell, Fluorescent? I'm busy!" She said, continuing to kiss the boy.

I stood there in shock.

"Y-You Bitch!" I screamed, pushing the boy away and pulling Lily off of the bed.
"YOU DESTROYED THE LAST THING I HAD OF MY MOTHER! FOR WHAT?! SOME BOY THAT YOUVE ALREADY MOVED ON FROM!? FUCK YOU LILY! GO TO HELL AND ROT YOU WHORE!" I screamed.

She pushed me against the wall.
"I don't give a fuck about your crackhead mother! I HOPE SHE DIES AN AGONIZING DEATH FILLED WITH PAIN! Oh wait, at this point she's probably already dead! And she doesn't give a shit about you! She sent you away so that she could have more time for drugs!" She said holding me to the wall.

My eyes filled with more tears.

I wiggled out of her grip and tackled her to the floor. I pinned her down and punched her repeatedly.
My fists pounded into her pretty little face.
After what seemed like forever, I got off of her.
She lay on the floor, covered in bruises and scrapes.
"J-Just fucking k-kill yourself." She said while holding onto her swollen face.
I got up and walked out the door.

Time skip to middle of school day.

The whole day I was quiet. Only nods and mumbles came out of me.
I stair down at my desk replaying every moment from this morning.
Lily's hurtful words echoed through my head.

The sound of the lunch bell made me jump in surprise.
I felt Alice's hand grab mine as she pulled my into the hallway.

"Fluor, you okay? You've been really quiet today."
"I'm fine."
I tried to walk away but she pulled me back.
"No, you're not. Tell me what's wrong."
I sighed.
"this morning... Um... I found out that Lily burned the last thing I had of my mother..."
Alice's cheerful eyes faded into a deep sorrow.

"Oh, Fluorescent, I'm so sorry. I-I had no idea."
She pulled me into a long hug.
"And I...uh... Punched her in the face... Repeatedly..."
"What!? Really!? OMG that's awesome! I bet it felt great."
"Yeah it was fun, but the whole time, all I saw was me being torn apart from my mom."

Time skip to end of the day.

Instead of walking home, I sat under this huge willow tree by the school.
The breeze was nice, and the way that the leafs swayed in the air was relaxing.
I soon felt two hands cover my eyes lightly.
"Guess who." I heard Jack say from behind me.
I smiled and turned towards him.
He kissed me softly and sat next to me.

"So, are you still up for the party tonight?" He said with a smile.
Shit! I forgot about that.
"Oh, yeah, I guess."
He frowned.
"Is everything okay?"
He looked worried.
"It's just that Lily and I got into a pretty heated argument... And I punched her in the face."
He sat there in shock.
"Oh... Wow. What was the argument about?"
"She burned my real mothers sweater that I had. It was the only thing I had left of her."
I looked down at the grass.
He tipped my chin up with his index finger so that I was facing him.
"Fluorescent I am so sorry. I do understand if the party is a no go." He said with a soft smile.

"No, I really do want to go. It'll take my mind off of things." I said while standing up.
He stood up too and and held my hands, then kissed me.
"I'll come get you at 8:00." He said looking at me.

Time skip to back home.

I walked through the door and ran up to my room.
I saw Lily in the bathroom looking at her face.
She had a black eye and busted lip. Along with a Few scratches on her cheeks.
She saw me and slammed the door in my face.

I walked into my room and started looking for something to wear to the party.
I decided on a black tank top that said, "Party Hard!" And denim shorts.
I did my makeup a little fancier than usual.
With winged eyeliner and and dark eye shadow. Also Rosie Red lipstick. I kept my hair in its normal state and put black converse on.
By now it was already 7:47 so I sat in my room, listening to music.
Knock
Knock
Knock.

I ran down the stairs and opened the door revealing Jack.
He had black skinny jeans, a red flannel, and black vans.
"Wow, you look beautiful." He said, admiring me.
I felt myself blush.
He held my hand as we walked over to his car.
He opened the door for me, then got in himself.
The ride was silent, but a comfortable silence.
