My eyes still sting from warm tears as I look at the mess of me in the mirror.
I inhale deeply."I have to tell Alice." I let out softly.
I stumble to my bedroom, but before I enter I'm interrupted by Lily's slightly bruised face."How was the party?" She said in a bitchy voice.
"I-It was fine." I say looking down and bringing my hand up to my cheek.
"Umhm, well I'm going to bed so shut up." She said while walking away.
"Hey, where's mom and dad. It seems like I haven't seen them in forever." I say in concern.
"Ha, wow, they really don't give a shit about you." She says smiling and shaking her head.
"W-what?" I say in confusion.
"They really didn't tell you? They're driving down to San Diego, signing some adoption crap for you."
"Wait what? Why?" I say very frustrated.
"They are giving you to a different adoption center." She said while laughing.
"No... Lily please tell me your lying!" I say now yelling.
"Nope! We finally are getting rid of your emo ass." She said with a smile.
I run into my room and slam the door.
No, no, no! I can't go to another adoption center! Not at 16 years old! No one wants a 16 year old!I pace around my room trying to think.
I can't relive that experience, not again.
I grab my phone and call mom.F: Mom!? Why the fuck didn't you tell me about the adoption crap!
M: Oh, I'm sorry Fluorescent, we must've forgot. Y-Your just not right for this family, stealing your sisters boyfriend and beating her up! We won't let you hurt our angel.
F: Angel!? That bitch has put me through hell!
M: Watch your mouth! We'll be home in 12 hours so pack your stuff.
End of call.I sit there in shock.
My hands start twitching and my eyes move rapidly.
My breathing gets faster and an anxiety attack falls over me.
I lay on my bed and stare at the ceiling.I sit up quickly and get my blue duffle bag out from my closet.
I begin to pack all of my valuables.Posters, band merch, clothes, Chargers, tooth brush, and the remains of my mothers sweater.
I grab my phone and text Alice.F: meet me at Feather Stone Park in an hour.
A: Uh, okay.
I grab my jacket and quickly walk out the door.
The cold night air surrounds me as I replay the memories of earlier tonight."Shut up bitch!" He yells as he punches me hard. Pain shoots up to my cheek and cracks my heart.
The look in his eyes after he does this kills me. The look of self hatred poured into his eyes. He looked down at his hand and saw my blood on his knuckles. By now tears were streaming down my face.
He sees the torn skin and my torn heart. His eyes fill with sorrow as he takes a step closer. I back away and soon run out of the building. Before I knew it I was already at the park.
A silhouette of a girl stands under a street light.
The dim glow shines off of her red hair as her head turns toward me.
She walks over to me with worry."Hey Flour, everything okay?" She says looking into my glazed over eyes.
I burst into tears and wrap my arms around her.
She hesitates, but soon embraces me."They're giving me away! T-to some adoption center in San Diego. I-I can't go through that again! I'm not good enough for them, I'm not good enough for any one!" I say in between sobs.
"Oh, Fluor, I'm so sorry! I thought you were at that party with Jack?" She said while still hugging me.
I pulled away.
"When we were at the party, Jack got really drunk a-and he punched me." I say looking down.
Alice's eyes were filled with shock as she comprehended what I had just said.
She pulled me into another hug and I could fill her warm tears soak into my jacket."Fluorescent, I'm so sorry. I'm gonna kill him!" She said holding my arms.
"I-I have to go." I say, getting out of Alice's embrace.
I slowly walk away, and head back to the house.
My footsteps echo and bounce off of the walls.
I walked into my room and close the door. I sigh and sit on the bed."Why was I even born if I was just gonna be a fuck up?" I say to the ceiling as my eyelids get heavy.
Darkness norrows my vision as I slowly fall asleep.
