Aiah's POV
After dinner, i quickly excused myself once again para lang hindi mapalapit sa babaeng 'yon. Why is she even here? At bakit dito pa talaga? Hindi ko masikmura yung mga titig niya, like, I don't know what to feel about it, maiinis ba ako? Matutuwa?
Gosh, hindi ko alam!
The moment I shut the door behind me, I could feel my chest tighten. I reached for my phone, dialing Fons. The call barely rang twice before I heard his familiar, upbeat voice.
"Yo, what's up?"
I hesitated before responding. "Fons... you'll never guess who I just saw."
He laughed, his voice light. "What? Yung long-lost crush mo nung college?"
"No, gosh..." I groaned. "It's Colet."
He paused for a bit. "Wait, ano? Bro, si Colet? As in, the one you-"
"Yes, Fons, that Colet," I cut in, pinching the bridge of my nose.
"Damn." His voice softened, but i know he's amused by it. "Okay, tell me everything. How's she looking? Same vibes or...?"
I sighed. "She looks the same. That kayabangan in her? Hindi nawala. She's acting like nothing ever happened between us."
"Wow." Fons chuckled softly. "That's rich coming from her, considering what she did to you."
"Exactly!" I huffed, pacing around the room. "It's like she expects me to just pick up where we left off. No apology, no nothing."
"Wait, wait. What did she even say?"
"She hasn't said much yet," I muttered. "But I know something's off. She's... different, but the same, you know?"
He paused. "Are you okay though?"
"Yeah, for now." I replied, though I wasn't entirely sure if I believed it. "I'll be fine. It's just... I wasn't expecting to see her here. At all."
"Fair. But hey, just... keep your cool, alright? Don't let her get under your skin."
I let out a humorless laugh. "Easier said than done."
Before Fons could reply, I heard a knock on my door. "I gotta go," I said quickly, ending the call and putting the phone into my pocket.
I opened the door cautiously, pero walang tao, am i tripping? Or someone is tripping me? Letting out a breath, lumabas ako onto the terrace para magpahangin.
That was when I heard footsteps behind me.
Turning around, I saw her. Colet, casually leaning against the railing like she owned the place. Her usual cool demeanor was intact, as if nothing had changed between us.
"Aiah," she greeted, her voice smooth, calm. "Long time, huh?"
Long time mo mukha mo.
"Yeah," I replied, keeping my distance. "Two years."
Colet's eyes lingered on me, scanning my face for a moment before she spoke again. "You look good."
I crossed my arms, suddenly feeling the need to protect myself. "Tsh. Ano bang gusto mo?."
She smirked, unti unti siyang lumalapit sa akin.
