As the dust settled in the cave, the silence that followed was deafening. Colet stood frozen, her wolf form slowly receding as the rage that had driven her ebbed away, replaced by a hollowness so deep it threatened to consume her. Y/n’s lifeless body lay cradled in her arms, her face peaceful, as if she had found solace in her final moments.

Mikha knelt beside them, her own hands trembling as she reached out to touch Y/n’s cold skin. “Nicolette,” she whispered again, her voice filled with anguish. “There has to be a way… hindi natin siya pwedeng hayaan nang ganito lamang.”

But Colet didn’t respond. She couldn’t. Her mind was trapped in the loop of Y/n’s last words, her declaration of love, and the awful reality that she was gone. Every part of her wanted to scream, to tear the world apart in grief, but all she could do was stare, numb.

Mikha’s eyes flickered toward the entrance of the cave, where Maraiah stirred, groaning as she slowly regained consciousness. Her vampire instincts had calmed, but the weight of the situation hit her like a punch to the gut. She saw Y/n’s body, the blood, and the look of devastation on Colet’s face. It all hit her in an instant.

“Y/n… no…” Maraiah’s voice was barely above a whisper as she crawled over to them, her hands shaking.

“We need to get her out of here,” Mikha said, trying to keep her voice steady. “This place... it’s cursed. We can’t leave her here.” Her eyes darted to the remains of Xenia, now nothing more than ash and bone, and a shudder ran through her. There was something darker lurking in this place, something she didn’t want to confront.

Colet finally stirred, her body stiff and aching as she rose to her feet, Y/n still in her arms. She didn’t say a word. She couldn’t.

Mikha and Maraiah exchanged a glance, their own grief palpable, but they knew what needed to be done. Together, they led Colet out of the cave, stepping into the cold night air. The stars above seemed indifferent, glittering coldly as though mocking their pain.

As they made their way back toward safety, the weight of the situation hung heavily in the air. There would be no peace for them tonight, only the ache of loss, and the bitter knowledge that Y/n had died for a truth Colet hadn’t even been prepared to face.

Once they reached the edge of the forest, Mikha gently placed a hand on Colet’s shoulder. “Dadalhin natin siya sa mas ligtas na lugar"she said softly. “We need to give her the farewell she deserves.”

Colet’s lips trembled, and for the first time since Y/n’s death, she spoke. Her voice was broken, barely audible. “She didn’t deserve this... Kahit ano man dito... Hindi.”

Maraiah wiped at her own eyes, trying to maintain her composure. “Ginawa niya iyon para sayo, ganon ka niya kamahal. More than anything.”

But Colet couldn’t accept it. The guilt, the pain, the confusion, it was all too much. She had lost someone who meant everything to her, and in the process, she had discovered a truth about herself that terrified her.

“Hindi ko naman hiniling na mangyari to eh,” Colet whispered, tears streaming down her face. “I never wanted to be that princess, or have any of this power. I just wanted... I just wanted her.”

Mikha and Maraiah exchanged a glance, unsure of what to say. They knew that no words could ease Colet’s pain. All they could do was stand by her side, offering their silent support as they made their way into the night.

As they walked, the winds of fate began to shift. Colet’s path had been altered, irrevocably. There was no turning back now. She had been thrust into a world of power, blood, and betrayal, and whether she wanted to or not, she would have to face it. But at that moment, all she could think about was Y/n, and the gaping hole her death had left behind.
