It was a peaceful Saturday afternoon. The familiar aroma of spices and sizzling ingredients filled Hunk's restaurant as the chef extraordinaire himself hustled around the kitchen. He had invited Lance and Keith for a special reunion, promising a feast like no other.
Just then, Lance strolled in. "Hunk, buddy! Long time no see, huh?" "Well, yeah," said Hunk chuckling as they hugged. "Man, whatever you're cooking smells divine," exclaimed Lance.
"Just wait until you taste it. Do you want to help with the cooking?" asked Hunk. "Yeah sure, why not." "Okay then, start by chopping these tomatoes," he instructed.
Just then Keith walked into the kitchen. "Hey man," said Lance running towards him and giving him a hug. "Did you get lost on the way?" Keith rolled his eyes. "At least I didn't need a GPS to find the kitchen, unlike some people." "I'm so offended," said Lance dramatically. "Hunk, please tell Keith that his fashion sense hasn't improved one bit."
Hunk laughed, "Don't you guys ever stop? Anyway, Keith, wanna help us in cooking?" "Sure," replied Keith.
"Okay, so Keith, you can stir the pot but be careful 'cause it's hot." Keith took the spoon with a mix of hesitation and curiosity. "I'm not promising anything."
As the trio got into the rhythm of cooking, things started to go hilariously wrong.
"Hey mullet, check this out." Lance started juggling all the tomatoes, only to have all the tomatoes fall on the ground and go "splat!" "Lance, seriously?" asked Hunk, facepalming. Keith stirred the pot so hard that he dropped a jar of paprika and started a mini-explosion.
"You know... we should totally have an epic food fight," exclaimed Lance. "Well, I would definitely win," said Keith. Hunk, trying to salvage the situation, couldn't help but laugh.
"No. You guys have turned my kitchen into a battlefield!" Lance and Keith glanced at each other and then burst out laughing. "Just like those old times huh?" "Yeah. Except this time the vegetables are our enemies," replied Keith
"Alright, we need to get serious," Hunk said, trying to regain control. "Keith, can you handle the dough? Lance, you're on sauce duty." "Yes sir," said Lance while jokingly saluting.
Keith rolled up his sleeves and started kneading the dough. His warrior strength was finally gonna come in use and Lance chopped the tomatoes, adding a little bit of his own flair.
"So Keith, ever thought of opening a restaurant?" Lance said, stirring the sauce with exaggerated finesse. "You seem to have a knack for kneading dough."
"Sure, Lance, and you can be the head chef with your extraordinary juggling skills."
"Very funny," Lance replied, tossing a piece of basil into the air and catching it in the pot. "Just don't burn the dough, okay?"
As they continued, Lance couldn't help but poke fun at Keith's serious expression. "You know, Keith, you look like you're preparing for battle, not bread."
Keith shot him a look, but couldn't suppress a smile. "Maybe I am. This dough is tougher than a Galra soldier.""Don't worry, you've got this," Lance said, clapping Keith on the back. "Just remember, the dough doesn't bite."
Keith chuckled, "You're impossible, you know that?"
"And you love it," Lance retorted, grinning.
"Well now we're gonna have to wait until it's done baking so we can sit and talk about stuff," said Hunk.
"Cool," replied Keith.
"So how have you guys been?" asked Hunk. "Well, nothing much. Just taking care of the crops, playing with my niece and nephew," replied Lance. "What about you, Samurai?" "Rebuilding all the civilizations and traveling to every corner of the universe I can," said Keith. "Sounds like you've got some stories to tell," exclaimed Lance. "Yeah, but I'm gonna save those for after lunch. What about you, Hunk?" "I've been busy with all these feasts and festivals, but now I'm at peace."
Just then the timer rang. "Perfect timing. It's ready, guys." As they pulled the freshly baked bread from the oven, the trio couldn't help but feel a sense of accomplishment. The kitchen might have been a mess, but they had managed to create something together, just like the old days.
"It looks kind of like... a pizza?" questioned Keith.
"Alright, let's taste this masterpiece," Hunk said, slicing the bread and handing each of them a piece.
They took a bite and immediately burst into laughter. "It's... not bad," Keith said, trying to hide his smile.
"Hey, it's better than I expected!" Lance exclaimed. "We make a pretty good team."
After eating, they decided to chat for a while more before leaving. "So you guys coming to the Garrison tomorrow?" asked Hunk.
"The Garrison? For what?" asked Lance, looking at Hunk and then Keith questioningly. "You guys haven't heard? Pidge and Matt just made a new invention and really want to show it to us. The entire Garrison is hyping about it," Hunk told them.
"Really?" asked Keith.
"Yeah, everyone is going to be there. Even Shiro and Coran, and Pidge really wants you guys to come," said Hunk.
"Well, I'm gonna be there tomorrow."
"Me too," replied Keith.
They chatted for a while more before Lance and Keith left.
"Bye! See you guys at the Garrison tomorrow," exclaimed Hunk.
"Bye, Hunk."
