Purple Magic

Avery took off her cloak and draped it on a chair as Gaster got out everything to check her vitals. "Has your hair gotten lighter?" He questioned as he slipped a blood pressure cuff around her arm. "I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if changes were still happening. Who knows, maybe I'll turn into a skeleton monster after all." She mused as Gaster placed a heart monitor on the opposite hand's index finger. "It's only a shard of my soul." Gaster argued as he squeezed the bulb. "I doubt you would become a full monster." He released the air in the inflated cuff and removed it. "May I see your soul, Avery?" Avery was already nodding as she pulled it out herself. Gaster's shard was implanted more towards the bottom and seemed to have bled into Avery's magenta soul. A good third of her soul had faded to white while the rest was its natural color. "Can you demonstrate some of your natural magic?" Gaster also noticed his purple magic seemed to be filling the cracks from her soul wound." Avery hummed softly before summoning a few of her own projectiles. Chain sickles appeared in her hands.

Gaster observed the magic summons in your hands to see if there had been any changes to Avery's magic itself, yet it seemed to be fine. "Can you still use purple magic?" Avery shrugged apologetically. "I don't exactly pick fights, father. That spat with Sans had been my first battle in a while." Gaster nodded again, looking contemplative. "I would like to initiate a mock battle then. Just to make sure my magic hasn't had a negative effect on yours." Avery sighed in pretend frustration, but she had her own little theory to test. "You know... I can use your magic. Perhaps you can use mine as well?" She suggested as they both readied for a few bouts of magic. Gaster initiated the battle, summoning a few bones for her to dodge. "You may just be right, Avery. But I want to see you use it first." Gaster replied as it became her turn. With a sigh, she summoned two more chain sickles and threw all four of them at the walls around Gaster before throwing a fifth right at his soul. Gaster didn't move as the purple magic took effect. His soul was now stuck on the chains.

Undyne had no idea where they went. She hadn't even noticed they disappeared until Sans popped in, asking for his dad. She didn't even know when Sans got to the lab. With a sigh, their little group started searching, but they weren't expecting to find a battle taking place, much less one of the fighters to be... was that a human? The person didn't look like any monster Undyne had seen before, but she also never met a human who could use magic like monsters could. And her soul looked... mixed? White and red and purple? What the hell did that mean?! Undyne was gonna go in to demand some answers, but both skeleton brothers stopped her. "so she wasn't going all out..." Gaster jumped from one purple chain to another, dodging red sickles. "I DIDN'T KNOW OUR SISTER COULD USE MAGIC!!!" Undyne looked at Papyrus in surprise. "Wha-?" Then she saw the cloak, hung on the desk chair. "Alright, I believe that's enough." Dr. Gaster broke Undyne out of her realization, and Avery put her soul away as the magic faded. "Your soul's condition seems fine. My magic hasn't interfered with yours. I will continue to monitor it, though... it seems my shard has had a larger effect than I imagined." Avery scoffed good naturedly as she went to put her cloak back on.
