Avery learned quickly how powerful the likes of Asriel Asriel attacked without mercy and made a point to separate her and Frisk since it was 'unfair'. Yeah. He could talk about unfairness. Her and a literal child were going up against a godlike boss monster. Lucky for Avery, she had magic too, and she certainly tried to make the best of it. She made use of bones and blasters to counter most of his attacks, but some were not so simple and had to be dodged. That was where purple magic came in handy to keep Frisk from getting murdered. Though it didn't seem she had to worry too much. The child knew what they were doing. 'How many times had they done this already?' She wondered as she tried to trap the prince himself in her maroon chains. It didn't pan out well, considering he was apparently as good a dodger as Sans, and the attempt failed miserably. On top of that, he grabbed the chains and pulled, dragging Avery with them and throwing her into one of his attacks, making her lose some HP. Frisk reached out to ASRIEL's SOUL and called out to their friends.
They're in there somewhere, aren't they?
...
Within the depths of ASRIEL's SOUL, something's resonating..!🛶🛶🛶
Seeing her family in such a lost state was soul breaking, and yet... Avery were dedicated to freeing them from Asriel's hold, starting with her father, who knew her best. "I am trapped in this stars forsaken place..." Avery reached out to her father, taking his hand as she had done that day so long ago, when he first took her in as his daughter and pupil. "That's not true... you are free... we are free..!" Avery encouraged, and his grip seemed to tighten before he attacked. Seeing as Frisk was also getting attacked, she assumed this was normal and would have to try again. "I was such a fool..." Avery shook her head. "You are a scientist who made a mistake - everyone makes mistakes!" Avery blocked some bone attacks with her chain scythes. "I will never be with my children..." Avery tried to use the piece of his soul to resonate with him, call him back. "You saved me once, dad! Let me do the same!" Something within him recognized her, and like that, he was back. "I have my family back..!" Now for the other two.

The brothers were a packaged deal, thank the stars. "I MUST CAPTURE A HUMAN!" Papyrus shouted out while Sans seemed a lot more melancholy. "just give up. i did." But Avery couldn’t. She was DEDICATED to saving them. "You did, Paps! You're related to one!" She mused to the taller of the two. "THEN EVERY ONE WILL..." Papyrus trailed off. "why even try?" It seems Sans needed a peptalk. "Because your brother, our father, friends and family alike love you, Sans! We need you to keep trying!" She believed she was starting to get the hang of this and took a glance to see how Frisk was doing. Working on Toriel and Asgore, it seemed. Avery quickly focused back in as Sans started to speak once more. "..." Papyrus was quiet and contemplative... a good sign? "you'll never see 'em again." Was this relating to the lab accident? "Wake up and smell the coffee! Dad's right here!" Avery scolded and yelped as Papyrus scooped her up. "NO! WAIT!! YOU'RE MY SISTER! I COULD NEVER CAPTURE YOU!!" She hugged back and looked down at a smiling Sans. He took notice and winked. "nah, i'm rootin' for ya, avery."
