Our lips moved in synch and I found myself pressing my body into Jesse's. It felt so right to be back in his arms. I missed this feeling.
Jesse hugged me tighter into him and tapped my waist. I took that as my sign to jump and as I did he slid my legs around his waist. Our tongues battled against each other as Jesse backed me into a tree. Suddenly he broke apart from me.
"I'm never letting you go again." He breathed harshly against my lips as he tried to catch his breath.
I tried to reconnect out lips but Jesse moved away, dropping me back on my feet.
"I'm being serious Sydney. I want us to be a real thing. I can't imagine loving anyone else as much as I love you." Jesse said as he stared into my eyes.
"Can we just go back to making out? I need you right now." I whined.
I was not in the mood to do some deep soul searching.
Jesse shook his head and ran his hand through his hair. "As much as I love to hear those words come out of your mouth, I have a problem with them. You said you 'need me right now'. But what about tomorrow and the day after that? Syd, I need an answer. Do you want to be in a relationship with me? Do you love me?"
I was ready to just ignore him and just rape his mouth with my tongue but I saw the look on his face. He was being dead serious.
Was I as serious about him as he clearly was about me? Could I picture myself years from now still with Jesse? Was I completely over Ethan? He was my first love and my stomach flutters every time I see him. Even though I'm furious with him right now, his perfect smile always gets to me.
I closed my eyes and really thought about it. In my mind I pictured Jesse and Ethan standing on opposite sides of the room with me in the middle. I looked at Ethan and saw him smirking, holding out his arms as if he already knew that I would choose him. I turned to Jesse and saw him on his knees holding his arms out to me as if I was his lifeline. There were unshed tears in his eyes and his lips spoke my name silently. It was then that I realized that I had my answer.
I opened my eyes and went up to Jesse. There was an unsure look on his face.
I took Jesse's face in my hands and smiled. "I love you Jesse."
"Thank God!" Jesse exclaimed before reconnecting our lips. We were soon interrupted through by a voice behind us. We broke apart and turned around.
Alyssa was leaning against a tree a look of fire in her eyes.
"How cute." She spat.
"What do you want Alyssa." I groaned.
All of a sudden I remembered that Alyssa was the one who broke Ethan and me up. Even though I no longer wanted to be with Ethan I was still pissed that she had the nerve to sleep with my boyfriend.
"I just thought I would remind you that it's against camp rules for counselors to hook up with each other. So unfortunately this," She pointed at us, "has to stop."
"You are such a bitch." I snapped, breaking away from Jesse to stand in front of the hateful blonde.
"Excuse me? Don't forget that I'm the one you work for Sydney."
"Cut the professional act Alyssa, I know what you're trying to do. You thought that you could get back at me for stealing Jesse away from you by hooking up with Ethan." I accused her.
Jesse looked uncomfortable. "I'm just gonna go, I'll see you later Sydney."
He kissed me on my cheek. "I have no words for you." He said to Alyssa before walking away.
When he was gone I turned back to Alyssa. "You were saying?"
Alyssa smirked. "It's not my fault that your boyfriend obviously doesn't give a shit about you and prefers me. Oh, I'm sorryex-boyfriend, because he dumped your ass for me." Alyssa gloated.
"You're mistaken Lys, I broke up with Ethan. Not the other way around." I corrected her.
Alyssa shrugged. "Either way, he's with me now. That must be really eating you up inside."
"Go kill yourself." I hissed.
"You wish." Alyssa turned to walk away. But before she left she turned back around. "Oh, and can you be a doll and tell Ethan that he owes me a new pair of panties. He ripped my favorite pink ones in his haste to be with me."
Before I even knew what I was doing, I had launched myself at Alyssa. I wound my hand tight around her long hair and threw her to the ground. I was getting ready to kick her when she grabbed my foot and pulled me to the ground with her. I recovered quickly however and jumped on top of her, pummeling my fist into her face. Like the weak bitch that she was, she started to scratch my face with her fake nails. Her foot freed itself from under me and unfortunately Alyssa was flexible so she managed to kick me in my head. I felt woozy and fell off of her. She was about to stand but I grabbed her shirt and used it to pull myself up. Alyssa reached out a hand to scratch my face again, but I was too quick for her. I slapped her hard in the face, so hard that my palm was stinging. I was ready to completely destroy the witch; however, Jesse had other plans. He reappeared right next to me, picked me up and held me into his chest.
"Calm down." He whispered into my ears. "She's not worth it."
My eyes narrowed into slits as Alyssa stood up with a twisted smile onto her face.
"You have no idea what you have just done." Alyssa warned.
I laughed humorlessly. "I'm pretty sure I just kicked your ass."
"Actually no, you've just attacked your superior."
"And that means..." I trailed off.
"It means that I can kick you out of the camp."
