When Rip he seen Walker waiting on our front walkway. he walked him around the back where our sliding glass door is and told him to sit while he came in grabbed a couple of beers then walked right back out.
While them two talked I warmed up dinner for Rip before going to check on Cal.
"is dad home?" he asked
"yeah bud he is" I tell him
"think he'll have time to come say goodnight?" he asked
"I believe so." I say
"I'll wait for him" he says
I leaned down an kissed his forehead before getting up. and walked over towards the door.
"I'll go see if he's done talking with one of the guys" I tell him
he nods his head before I walked out the door.
It makes me happy that he calls Rip dad. I didn't force him or anything he's done it since Lee was alive. & he's not confused at all. he knows Lee is his birth father & Rip is his step father. that's why he told us that Lee is daddy and Rip is dad.
which when he first called Rip dad, Rip was shocked but so damn happy.
I walked into the kitchen and saw Rip standing there drinking and eating his dinner.
"Cal wants to know if you've got time to tell him goodnight. he just woke back up and is waiting" I tell Rip
He sits his beer down before he walked off to Cal's room.
I leaned against the counter and waited. minutes later Rip walked back out.
"wanna talk about it?" I asked
"two tourist that wondered off from their tour fell over a cliff, I tried to save them but they wouldn't listen and the woman slipped & fell to her death and her boyfriend purposely let go to join her. the bear we were to scare off came changing at me and I shot it to save my life. but the Sherrif officers believe that I done it for spit. When a fish and wild life officer came I rode up with her since John wanted me to go and wait for her. I noticed a horse fly on her horse and asked her if it was ok if I swatted it and she told me not to touch her horse and I tried to explain what would happen if the fly bit the horse and she yelled at me and then the fly bite the horse and long story short she was bucked off the horse implaed by the metal post that holds the barewire. she wouldn't let me kill the horse so I used wire cutters to free the horse than scared it off before I proceeded to do the same with the wire attactched to the post the officer was impaled with. I called for the chopper and got her to the hospital where they took over. when I came back home I where I talked with Mr. Dutton and told him what happened to the officer that was fish and wildlife. he had to make some calls." Rip says
"wow. I'm married to a hero" I say walking over to him wrapping my arms around his middle.
"no I'm no hero. two people died when I tried saving them" he says looking down at me
"you said one slipped and the other purposely fell to his death" I state looking up at him
"yeah" he says
"So that isn't your fault." I tell him
"I know" he says
" you saved the officer's life which makes you a hero" I say
He sighs before wrapping his arms around me.
"hope the other fish and wildlife officer can ride and listen when I try to help." he says
"I dotn think you'll have anything to worry about" I say
" I hope not" he says
I picked his lips and had him go get cleaned up while I cleaned up the kitchen.
He shook his head leave them for tomorrow lets go soak in the tub" he says as he lead me off to the master bedroom and into the bathroom.
