After having Koa it seemed like things were seeming to to straighten up a bit for everyone.
Rip and I enjoyed being parents to our baby boy. Cal enjoyed being a big brother. and Beth loved being a godmother again.
I have been taking it easy since I'm healing. Rip has been splitting his time between working and watching Cal what time Cal isn't in school or Beth doesn't have him going places. or John isn't teaching him things.
Right now I'm carrying Koa around the Ranch in a papoose telling him all about different things not that he really cares since his fast asleep.
"did you knock my godchild out?" Beth asked
"nope, he just got some good ol' ranch air and crashed out. not to mention he's like his father once he's laid close to me " he replied
She smiled while coming closer and leaned down to kiss Koa's head carefully.
"can I take Cal into town with me?" she asked
"I don't mind as long as Rip is okay with it" I say
"he said he didn't mind" she says
"alright then" I say
she smiled and walked off while I headed towards the corral and watched the guys joke around while doing reining.
" what did you do to my grandson?" John asked
"he's just like his father loves the ranch air and being close to me. it helps him relax and sleep" I answered
John smiled as he rested his arms on the top log.
"ever go up there?" he asked
"every single chance I get. heck some times when I cant sleep I'll go" I tell him
"yeah me too" he says
" at least we both have a part of him" I tell him
"and he reminds me so much of Lee when he was a little boy. its like watching him grow up all over again" John says
I looked at him and smiled before wrapping my arm around him.
" I appreciate what you've done for Rip. giving him that cabin" I say
"well he's like a son just like you're like a daughter to me. & you know I do my damndest to take care of my family" he says
"Kayce cant take it away or Monice if something happens to you right?" I asked
"no the deed to that cabin is in your's and Rip's name." he says
I nodded my head and kissed his cheek.
"thank you" I say
"thank you for what all you've done" he says
I nodded my head before dropping my arm and went back to watching the guys when I saw Rip was reining which watching him ride and handle that horse does things to me. not to mention him in all black and them blue jeans really ices the cake.
